Group: Information Technology and Cybersecurity Reports to : Chief Technology Officer WHO WE ARE The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) was established in 1999 as an international independent agency to lead a collaborative worldwide movement for doping-free sport. As the global regulatory body, WADA’s primary role is to develop, harmonize and coordinate anti-doping rules and policies across all sports and countries. Our key activities include: scientific and social science research; education; intelligence & investigations; development of anti-doping capacity; and, monitoring of compliance with the World Anti-Doping Program. POSITION OVERVIEW The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is responsible for monitoring compliance of signatories to the World Anti-Doping Code (Code). WADA’s IT & Cybersecurity group is responsible for the design, integration, and operation of multiple large-scale systems that support global anti-doping activities. Under the supervision of the Chief Technology Officer, the Solution Architect will shape the architecture that powers the global anti-doping ecosystem, ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable platforms for thousands of stakeholders worldwide. The successful candidate will bridge business and technical domains, guiding internal and external teams to deliver scalable, secure, and interoperable solutions. He will play a key role in ensuring architectural coherence across multiple systems and partners within a complex, multi-stakeholder environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Design and evolve scalable, secure, and interoperable solutions that meet business and technical requirements across WADA’s ecosystem (e.g., ADAMS, ADEL, SRM, ERP, ServiceNow, Databricks, Dayforce), working closely with other architects to ensure architectural coherence and consistency; Contribute to the development and maintenance of enterprise solution blueprints , integration patterns, and interface specifications, collaborating with peers to define shared standards, reference architectures, and best practices; Evaluate and recommend technologies and integration approaches through Proofs of Concept (PoCs) and solution assessments, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture principles and the broader technology roadmap; Enable secure and compliant data integration , embedding privacy, security, and governance standards in solution design in partnership with data and security architects; Co-own architectural documentation and governance processes , producing clear diagrams, decision records, and integration flows that are shared and maintained collaboratively across the Architecture team; Provide architectural guidance and mentorship to delivery teams , supporting consistent implementation of patterns and principles across internal teams and external partners. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s preferred); Minimum 7 years in system/solution architecture within enterprise or public-sector environments; Strong background in solution design and system integration, especially hybrid/multi-cloud (AWS, Azure); Proficiency in API design, RESTful services, event-driven architectures, and integration middleware (e.g., Kong, Azure Logic Apps); Experience with high-code environments (Java/Java EE, Spring Boot, TypeScript, Node.js) and low-code platforms (Mendix); Knowledge of authentication/authorization standards (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, SAML, SCIM) and SSO platforms (Keycloak, Azure AD); Familiarity with enterprise ecosystems (HR, CRM, ERP, case management) and SaaS integration patterns; Experience in security-by-design and privacy-by-design approaches; Knowledge of data management/governance (metadata, lineage, MDM); Proven ability to design secure, scalable architectures across multiple systems and data flows; Experience collaborating with outsourced development teams or system integrators; Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities; Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders; Self-motivated, organized, balancing strategic vision with hands‑on involvement; Excellent oral and written skills in one of the two WADA official languages (English/French) and very good command of the other official language; additional languages would be an asset; Fit with organizational culture: Teamwork, team spirit and love of sport; Aligned with WADA core values: Integrity, Openness and Excellence.
