KCB is expanding its Power & Transportation group with an opportunity in our Vancouver office for an Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer . You will participate in transportation, hydroelectric, marine and civil infrastructure projects within a multi-discipline project team. In the Vancouver office you will work closely with mentors, internal team members, clients and other stakeholders to hone your design, analysis and project leadership skills. What you would engage in Conduct geotechnical site investigations, including field testing and soil sampling. Analyze geotechnical data to provide design recommendations for foundations, retaining walls, slope stability, and embankments. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide geotechnical input on transportation, hydroelectric, marine, and civil infrastructure projects. Prepare technical reports, proposals, design specifications, and recommendations for clients and stakeholders. Perform geotechnical modeling and analysis using industry-standard software such as GeoStudio, PLAXIS, or similar tools. Assist in the preparation of construction documents and provide construction support as required. Participate in field inspections and monitoring during construction to ensure design compliance. Communicate effectively with clients, project teams, and regulatory agencies. Support senior engineers and project managers in the coordination and management of projects. What we require Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical, Civil Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree is an asset). Minimum of 7 years of geotechnical engineering consulting experience, with exposure to transportation, hydroelectric, marine, or civil infrastructure projects. Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or ability to obtain within 6 months. Proficiency in geotechnical analysis software (e.g., GeoStudio, PLAXIS, gINT, or similar). Strong understanding of geotechnical engineering principles and applicable codes and standards. Hands-on experience conducting site investigations, soil sampling, and in-situ testing. Strong technical writing and communication skills. Willingness to travel to project sites as needed. Salary for this position is $100,000 to $140,000 per year. Salary is based on applicable experience, education, and skill level.
