About the Organization The Association of Ontario Midwives Benefits Trust (AOMBT) provides a comprehensive benefits plan to support midwives by proactively managing and protecting their financial, physical and mental wellbeing. Position Overview Director of Corporate Services – senior leadership role reporting to the Executive Director, providing strategic and operational leadership across finance, governance, risk management, and corporate operations to ensure the Trust meets its fiduciary, regulatory, and service obligations. Responsibilities Financial Leadership & Stakeholding (60%) Strategic oversight of the Trust’s financial management, sustainability and long‑term planning. Oversight of budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow management and financial performance monitoring. Accurate and timely financial reporting to senior management, board, committees, regulators and stakeholders. Oversight of audits, tax filings and statutory reporting requirements. Implementation of strong internal controls, financial policies and risk‑mitigation practices. Financial analysis and scenario modelling to support strategic decision‑making. Information Technology (15%) Collaboration with the Virtual Chief Information Officer to support the delivery of IT services meeting organisational standards. Strategic planning: development of IT strategies aligned with organisational goals. Risk management: identification and mitigation of IT‑related risks, including cyber‑security and data protection. Compliance: ensuring IT data practices comply with relevant laws and regulations. Performance monitoring: evaluation of IT service performance and recommendation of improvements. Training and development: provision of training opportunities to enhance staff skills. Pension Plan Investment Oversight (10%) Strategic direction and oversight of the Trust’s retirement savings investment portfolio. Collaboration with external investment managers, advisors and the Board to develop, implement and monitor investment policies. Ongoing evaluation of investment performance, risk and regulatory compliance and recommendation of adjustments to optimise returns. Preparation and presentation of investment reports to the Executive Director, Board and committees. Staying informed of trends, best practices and regulatory developments in pension plan investment management. Risk & Compliance (10%) Key advisor to the Board on risk management and compliance. Support for board and committee operations, including preparation of materials and policies. Oversee enterprise risk management. Ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, regulations and Trust agreements. Human Resources & Operations (5%) Integrated leadership across corporate services – finance, HR, IT, procurement and systems. Efficient, effective and fit‑for‑purpose systems and processes. Continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen operational maturity. Qualifications University degree in finance, accounting, business administration or related field. CPA designation. Senior leadership experience in finance and/or corporate services within a not‑for‑profit, public sector or trust environment. Strong understanding of governance, risk and compliance. Experience supporting boards or trustees in a fiduciary context. Key Competencies Well‑developed analytical and strategic mindset. Ability to present financial information to diverse audiences. Working Relationships Reports to: Executive Director Works closely with: Board of Trustees and Board Committees External relationships: Auditors, legal counsel, regulators, service providers Location & Compensation Toronto, Hybrid Schedule. Salaries range between $130,000‑$150,000, plus a group RRSP contribution, four weeks vacation and fully paid health benefits including a significant health spending account.
