Job Details: Location: Toronto, ON Job Type: Full-time Working Arrangement: Hybrid Responsibilities Design new or revised products, equipment, and installations, utilizing processes based on established engineering principles to meet the customer and Railway requirements. Assume the role of Work Package Manager as required. Responsible for the quality and integrity of the hardware designs and all related documentation. Conduct technical reviews and ensure changes align with objectives. Generate accurate, supportable estimates for current departmental technology and for developments new to the department. Support bids by defining technical solutions and reviewing the materials list. Interpret, identify, and document requirements such that customer needs are met within the budget and schedule constraints. Ensure safety and quality of hardware products while reducing deployment cost. Contribute to heightened reuse of product hardware and improvements in hardware quality. Track progress on all tasks, verifying that all assigned work has been completed accurately. Prepare specifications for hardware and/or software components or devices. Develop appropriate design architecture. Review applicable specifications, standards, rules, etc., and ensure that appropriate actions resulting from this review have been taken. Implement designs, using good design practices and applicable standards and guidelines. Contribute to a harmonious team environment while maintaining a high degree of professionalism. Develop junior team members by mentoring and providing assistance. Follow directions & instructions, use good judgement in the performance of assigned work. Required Skills Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering. Strong experience designing complex electrical or electronics products. Well versed with design and testing of electronic circuits including microprocessors, power circuit design, telecommunications circuits.
