OverviewAtkinsRéalis is seeking a Specialist Engineer for Feeder analysis to join our Engineering Excellence team in Mississauga. The role requires technical leadership in the analysis of feeders, feeder supports, feeder in‑line components and consulting support across all CANDU projects. This is a permanent position. Your roleSupport multiple teams to model complex piping and support arrangements using finite element techniques. Perform thermal, fatigue, seismic, linear, and non‑linear analyses in accordance with ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code, Section III, Division 1 code requirements. Execute complex engineering tasks with efficiency and accuracy. Interpret technical documents such as engineering drawings, bill of materials, calculations, design specifications, analysis reports, design manuals, technical specifications (for procurement, fabrication, and site installation), data sheets, system classification lists, code classifications, commissioning specifications, etc. Prepare and review registration packages for pressure boundary components. Interface with regulatory bodies such as TSSA, ISCIR, CNCAN, and CNSC as required. Provide technical guidance and instruction to designers, drafters, and engineers. Provide prompt responses and engineering resolutions on critical matters. Lead a group of Stress Engineers/Analysts on multiple CANDU 6 Retube Reactor Components tasks. Define work scope, prepare budget estimates and schedules, and report progress. Report to engineering or project management with timely updates on project performance for assigned scopes or tasks. Perform engineering work following AtkinsRéalis/CANDU Energy Quality Assurance programs and applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements. Coordinate and interface with client, suppliers, stakeholders and other design disciplines to execute assigned engineering work. About YouEngineering Degree in Mechanical from an accredited university or equivalent degree recognized by Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO). Registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario (required). Qualified or eligible for ASME Appendix XXIII (preferred). Minimum 15 years of related work experience in feeders, pipe, feeder/pipe support design/analysis within a heavy industrial environment such as mining, oil & gas, or nuclear power; preferably with CANDU feeder analysis experience. Minimum 15 years of experience in stress analysis of pressure boundary components for deadweight, thermal, and seismic conditions. Design engineering experience in nuclear piping systems is preferable. Experience in FEA using ANSYS Mechanical APDL (required). Experience in ANSYS Workbench is an asset. Experience in other FEA software, such as LS‑DYNA, is an asset. Proven ability to work in a team with other engineers and complete highly technical integrated tasks. Working knowledge of CSA N285, CSA B51, CSA N289, ASME BPVC Section III, Division 1, ASME B31.1 and other applicable standards or regulatory guides related to permanent plant components and reactor systems. General knowledge of CANDU nuclear mechanical and feeder/piping systems. Excellent technical and practical skills to resolve engineering issues or technical problems. Ability to interact effectively with clients at all levels of the client organization. Capable of working independently while being an active team member supporting project teams. Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment. Excellent communication and technical writing skills. Willingness to become a Nuclear Energy Worker (NEW) if required.
