What you’ll be working on Accountable for overall management and direction of day‑to‑day operations on the sales floor, ensuring fast, accurate, and friendly service at cash registers, self‑checkouts, and donation areas. Reports to the Store Manager. Store Performance Ensure store performance meets financial targets and key metrics. Monitor and set the pace of work, analyzing and acting on metrics and observations. Inspect sales floor for shop‑ability and merchandising standards. Lead new Super Savers Club membership generation. Prioritise and direct team member activity. Leadership and Development Lead, direct, and supervise supervisors and sales floor team members. Plan staffing needs, coordinate recruitment, selection, and training. Interact, train, coach, and counsel supervisors and team members. Identify and develop high‑potential team members for supervisory/management roles. Serve as acting Store Manager in the absence of the Store Manager. Retail and CDC Operations Schedule staff for cash register, self‑checkout, and sales floor to meet demand. Assess the sales floor and donor areas continuously, directing activity to meet standards. Inform staff of operating plan targets and progress. Monitor sales, items sold, and operations labor hours; adjust staffing as needed. Identify and resolve issues in sub‑standard departments or categories. Determine appropriate space‑to‑sales using CatMax and adjust linear footage. Handle customer inquiries, requests, and complaints. Process exchanges, special customer needs, and team member purchases. Use the Voice of Customer Program to improve satisfaction. Deliver a memorable customer/donor experience through training and coaching. Engage with customers to gather feedback and drive improvements. Implement sales and marketing promotions. Maintain a safe work environment and support the Joint Health and Safety Committee. Protect company assets and information. Manage cash and tender controls, including morning accounting and banking procedures. Promote loss prevention through procedures and policies. What you have Strong mathematical and analytical skills. Excellent verbal and written communication. Ability to observe, assess, and coach others. Common sense judgment to follow written and verbal instructions. Independent decision‑making ability. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Minimum Required Education, Training and Experience High School diploma; post‑secondary degree or diploma preferred. Experience in sales floor supervision, cashier supervision, customer service management, or retail management. Experience in a Savers production environment (sorting, grading, pricing) preferred; can be acquired on the job. Physical Requirements Frequently lift and carry products up to 5 lbs.; occasionally up to 50 lbs.; occasional pushing/pulling of racks or carts 50‑250 lbs. Frequent reaching, inspecting merchandise, and coaching. Dexterity for hand‑eye tasks including keyboarding and writing. Continuous standing, frequent walking, stooping, bending, twisting, and occasional kneeling. Read the occasional written and electronic documents and product labels. Hear and verbally communicate consistently; listen to intercom and telephone. Occasionally exposed to hazardous machinery, solvents, radiation, dust, and temperature fluctuations. Navigate large industrial machinery and uneven surfaces safely and efficiently. May need to drive to bank deposits or meetings and other stores.
