Occasional overtime may be requiredReports To:Operations SupervisorCompensation:$38.60 (no ticket) - $40.82 (with 3rd class Power Engineering ticket) + benefits as governed by CBAAbout This Position And About You This job requires mechanical ability to perform general plant operator duties: opening, loading, and unloading tank trucks and railcar vessels, operating pumps, piping, valves, and general plant upkeep and maintenance. It involves climbing stairs and ladders and lifting within OSHA guidelines. Work is typically outside, with radiant heat or cold, and follows rotating shifts.Qualification KnowledgeHigh school diploma or GED equivalent.3rd or 4th Class Power Engineering Ticket (strongly preferred) or in the process of obtaining.CompetenciesRelevant experience in a plant environment performing similar duties is preferred.Ability to use computers effectively, including Microsoft programs, maintenance management systems, email, etc.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, manufacturer’s literature, diagrams, or schematics.ResponsibilitiesPerform typical operations such as truck and railcar loading/unloading, connecting/disconnecting hoses, operating valves, troubleshooting equipment/operational problems, and operating plant equipment as needed.Replace nuts and bolts in pipe flanges ranging from 1” to 48” diameter.Operate mobile equipment: front‑end loader, track mobile, forklifts, and other mobile machinery.Maintain cleanliness, sweep, manage tool room and warehouse inventory, remove trash, dig, spray weeds, shovel, perform fire watch and confined space hole attendance/entrant duties, and other tasks assigned by the supervisor.Work in ambient temperatures up to 40°C while wearing personal protective equipment, including acid‑resistant PVC rain suits, respirators, and other PPE.Work scheduled rotating 12‑hour shifts with intermittent 14–16‑hour days for emergency operations/repairs.Maintain weekly timesheets accurately.Follow all plant rules and regulations, including attendance requirements.Comply with all plant safety rules, utilize all required PPE, and document PPE condition.Follow all plant safety guidelines such as confined space, high‑work, management of change, hot work, and operating procedures.Physical ConditionsRequire physical strength, hand‑eye coordination, and endurance.Often sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.Requires climbing multi‑level stairs/ladders.Must wear site‑designated PPE at all times (hard hats, steel toe caps, safety glasses, coveralls, PVC acid‑resistant suits, hearing protection, hand protection).Requires normal field of vision.May involve sitting for long hours in an office environment on occasion.Must be fit for all duties described.Work EnvironmentWork in awkward or confining spaces.Work in elevated places.Work outdoors.Work in noisy environments.Work in areas with dust and chemical odors.Safety is a job requirement.Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions.#J-18808-Ljbffr
