Who we are? The Primary Construction Team consists of ACCIONA Infrastructure Canada Inc. (ACCIONA) and Amico Major Projects Inc. (Amico), as Trillium Guideway Partners (TGP). What is the project? The Ontario Line (“OL”) is a fully integrated, stand-alone, rapid transit system that connects Ontario Science Centre to the Exhibition and Ontario Place grounds. The Northern Civil, Stations and Tunnel (“NC”) project consists of approximately 7 kms of underground subway and elevated guideway, with stations along the segment providing connections to surface bus and streetcar routes. The NC project has been divided into two main progressive design-build contracts: (1) the Elevated Guideways and Stations Contract (“EGS”) and the Pape Tunnel and Underground Station Contract (“PTUS”), with supporting Early Works. What is the Opportunity? Verification and Validation (V&V) Coordinator shall ensure the quality, reliability, and compliance of construction project, including structures, materials, and systems. The ideal candidate will manage and execute verification and validation activities across the project lifecycle, ensuring that all construction deliverables meet industry standards, specifications, and safety regulations. This role is crucial for ensuring that the construction project meets client expectations and regulatory requirements. Implement activities in the V&V Plan for construction project, ensuring alignment with project requirements and specifications. Verify and validate the structural integrity, building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing), and materials used in the project. Review designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and Safety & Security requirements. Participate in on-site inspections and quality assurance testing on materials and work progress. Ensure compliance with industry standards and local building codes. Conduct risk assessments and propose mitigation strategies related to construction quality and safety. Review construction methodology to ensure proper execution of works. Identify and resolve non-conformance issues and implement corrective actions. Collaborate with project managers, contractors, architects, and engineers to address and resolve project issues. Manage documentation of test reports, validation records, and compliance checklists. Assist in the preparation for site audits and ensure that all construction activities are documented for regulatory purposes. Document results of Verification and Validation activities in V&V reports and in the Requirements Traceability and Verification and Validation Matrix. Work Conditions: Primarily Office-based with visits to construction sites for inspections and testing Full-time position with standard working hours, occasional extended hours to meet project deadlines. Field inspections may require standing, walking, and lifting materials. Required Skills and Competencies Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in construction quality assurance, V&V engineering, or construction testing. Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and testing procedures. Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and industry standards. Experience with construction quality management systems (e.g., QA/QC procedures). Proficiency in construction software (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM tools, etc.), project management tools (MS Project, Primavera) and requirements management (DOORS). Ability to identify potential risks and suggest preventive actions.
