Manager Financial Reporting Our Calgary based client is seeking a Manager, Financial Reporting . As a key member of the Finance leadership team, this position is responsible for leading the preparation of the company’s financial statements and MD&A, conducting technical accounting research, and developing critical documentation, including impairment assessments. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with ASPE and maintain a high standard of financial reporting while providing leadership and development to a growing team to enhance the financial reporting function. Your Success Will Be Defined By Your Ability To Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with ASPE and internal reporting standards Lead the month-end close process, including reconciliations, financial statements, and supporting schedules Draft MD&A and prepare monthly financial reporting packages for the Board and Ownership, highlighting key metrics and insights Conduct technical accounting research and prepare documentation on complex matters, including impairment analyses Oversee fixed asset accounting and ensure accurate reporting throughout the asset lifecycle Coordinate audit-ready financial documentation and liaise with external auditors to support efficient audits Develop and enhance financial policies, processes, and reporting practices to improve accuracy and timeliness Mentor and develop finance team members while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure data consistency Your strengths include: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance and CPA designation 7+ years of progressive experience in financial reporting, accounting, or auditing 3+ years of people leadership or management experience Strong technical accounting expertise, including in-depth knowledge of ASPE and the ability to research, interpret, and document complex accounting matters Experience in a public company environment or within a professional accounting firm Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Oracle and SmartView considered an asset #J-18808-Ljbffr
