Member of Technical Staff (Applied AI Engineer) Location: Toronto Onsite | Full-time Compensation: $140K - $260K We are building the open-source browser infrastructure that powers the next generation of AI agents and applications. By providing a high-performance Sessions API, we enable developers to build products that interact with the web as seamlessly as humans do. After growing our platform 50x in 2025 through pure word-of-mouth and a vibrant open-source community (6,000+ GitHub stars), we are looking for an engineer to help us define the frontier of browser automation. We are a small, talent-dense team backed by world-class investors, and we move with high intensity to shape the future of the internet. The Role You will sit at the intersection of product, research, and community. This isn't a traditional ML role or a pure DevRel role—it’s both and neither. You will be the bridge between AI agent builders and our core infrastructure, working directly with the founding team to define what gets built. You will run experiments to determine what actually works for browser automation with AI, then turn those insights into frameworks, research, and content that developers love. We work hard, move fast, and expect the same intensity from our team; late nights and weekend work are part of the journey when building something exceptional. Key Responsibilities Building a TypeScript browser agent framework that integrates LLMs with our core infrastructure. Running experiments to identify which models (GPT-4, Claude, Gemini) and prompting strategies work best for complex web tasks. Creating open-source demos and integrations with frameworks like LangChain, CrewAI, and emerging agent platforms. Writing technical blog posts and publishing research that establishes our team as the authority on browser agents. Partnering with our Growth Lead to turn experiments into content that drives developer adoption. Qualifications Experience: 4+ years of engineering experience with a track record of shipping production AI agents (e.g., web scraping, form filling, research automation). AI Literacy: Deep understanding of current LLMs, frameworks, and techniques. You can evaluate tradeoffs between models quickly. Tech Stack: Strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript and Python. Experience with React, Node.js, and browser-level automation is a major plus. Open Source: You are "open-source native"—you’ve contributed to or maintained OSS projects and understand how to build community around code. Communication: You enjoy teaching others. You are comfortable writing blog posts, recording demos, and engaging with the developer community. Mindset: You ship in months, not years. You are comfortable with a high-intensity startup environment and love owning things end-to-end. Nice-to-haves Experience as a founder or early employee at an AI-first company. An active presence in AI/ML communities (X, GitHub, Discord). Experience building developer tools that gained significant community adoption. Compensation and Benefits Compensation: Competitive salary range of $140K – $260K + founding team-level equity (Employee #5-7). Healthcare: Comprehensive health and dental insurance for you and your family. Impact: Solve deeply technical problems in distributed systems, virtualization, and browser automation. Tools & Environment: Brand-new laptop setup, gym membership subsidies, and regular team events/off-sites. Growth: Work directly with a fast-paced technical founding team shipping high-impact work daily.
