Position Summary The mission of the C5ISRT Architect is to ensure that the technical policy and strategic plan are well‑defined and understood by the project in line with the business objectives, and implemented accordingly. You will lead the definition and design of mission critical systems, build professional teams from external partners and internal resources, communicate technical solutions to all audiences and earn the trust of critical systems operators. Regulatory Compliance Requirement This position requires direct or indirect access to hardware, software or technical information controlled under the Canadian Export Control List and/or the US Export Administration Regulations (EAR). All applicants must be eligible or able to obtain authorization for such access, including eligibility for a Canadian security clearance. Key Areas of Responsibility Visualize and design data centric systems of systems of systems. Develop System Architecture documents and artifacts where functionality, performance, and cyber security are addressed as an integrated whole. Work with critical system operators to capture key value and pain points. Identify, vet, recommend, and collaborate with Thales’ partners. Present solutions and designs to partners, customers, and internal stakeholders, including the preparation of RFP documents. Contribute to the overall technical policy definition and its implementation. Contribute to the Technology & Innovation strategy by eliciting needs from the business lines and aligning with the Thales Group’s initiatives. Provide coaching and tutoring on key strategic skills and techniques. Lead technical specification definition and subcontractor selection. Lead the architecture practices (modeling, design, coding) as directed within one or more projects. Inform and influence key stakeholders to align with strategic direction. Minimum Requirements Undergraduate degree in a relevant field. 5+ years in solution architecture, with increasing complexity over time. Demonstrated expertise in operational and capability analysis. Product feature development & co‑engineering team lead experience. Strong background designing Command & Control (C2) and Intelligence solutions. Extensive hands‑on experience in the development of robotic autonomous systems. Practical knowledge of AI/ML algorithms and multi‑sensor fusion architecture supporting situational awareness and autonomous decision‑making. Familiarity with modern cloud computing frameworks and micro‑service architecture for scalable system deployment. Preferred Qualifications Expertise in at least 5 of the following areas: Needs analysis & Value creation Architecture frameworks (e.g., DNDAF, TOGAF, DoDAF, NAF) Cybersecurity Everything Cloud Mobile communications and computing Distributed systems Enterprise systems Networking Command and control systems Software systems architecture Model‑based systems engineering Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning Data Science Data modeling Autonomous systems UX principles and methodologies Software systems integration Software development lifecycle Special Position Requirements Physical Environment: Hybrid Working – remote and on‑site as required. Travel: May be required to travel domestically and/or internationally to different Thales and/or customer sites. Security: Must be able to obtain and hold a valid Canadian security clearance and meet the eligibility requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and ITAR. Compensation The reference Total Target Compensation (TTC) market range for this position, inclusive of annual base salary and variable compensation target, is between $120,000 – $160,000 CAD annually.
