Senior Business Intelligence Engineer – Montreal, Toronto, or Vancouver office As a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer, you will design and deliver scalable BI solutions that enable data-driven decision‑making across the organization. This hands‑on role focuses on Power BI, while also supporting evolving analytics and AI‑driven initiatives. Job Responsibilities Build and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards Develop and manage Row‑Level Security modules Create business cubes to curate datasets Undertake data analysis initiatives to support the business Translate enterprise data structures into reporting designs Work with physical and logical data marts in Azure Synapse and SQL Server Follow best practices for Power BI report design and BI deliverables Collaborate with data engineering resources Explore potential data science initiatives within the existing framework Identify gaps in reporting and BI needs across business domains Participate in an Agile framework and methodology Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or a related field (Master’s degree is an asset) 4 to 7 years of experience in Business Intelligence or Data Analytics Proven delivery of end‑to‑end BI solutions in a corporate environment Knowledge of the insurance industry or experience with similar data domains is a plus Technical Skills Strong expertise in Power BI (data modeling, DAX, performance optimization, visualization best practices) Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases Solid understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and BI concepts Experience with cloud data environments, preferably Azure (Synapse, Data Factory, Data Lake) Experience with ETL processes, data transformation, and working with APIs Experience with Python or R for data manipulation or automation is an asset Familiarity with Power BI deployment pipelines and CI/CD practices is an asset Bilingual with strong verbal and written communication skills in both French and English Core Competencies Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail Quick learner capable of understanding complex data structures and business processes with limited documentation Ability to connect disparate data sources and systems Strong communication skills, translating data into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders Collaborative mindset with a focus on mentoring and knowledge sharing Proactive and adaptable in a fast‑paced environment We welcome and encourage applications from people with diverse abilities.
