Quality Inspector In this role you will be responsible for inspecting and validating component parts and completed products for conformance to quality standards defined in drawings, bills of materials, check sheets, and specifications, as well as alignment to customer requirements and ISO standards. Responsibilities Perform receiving inspection as required. Perform in‑process and final inspection tasks on all switches and part orders being shipped. Perform internal process/quality system audits as required and report all findings. Have authority to “shut down” non‑conforming processes after notifying Supervisor, Quality Manager, and Director of Operations. Apply sound judgement in making quality‑related decisions and problem solving. Communicate regularly and work cooperatively with subordinates, management, suppliers, and other employees. Communicate drawing discrepancies to Engineering. Participate in customer inspection as needed. Create and assist team members in writing and entering NCRs. Assist in evaluation of non‑conforming components, such as conducting dimensional analysis to help identify potential issues, material sorting, quarantine, and disposition. Write CAR/CIIs for audits and assist employees who wish to report a problem requiring corrective action. Report violations of ISO standards to Quality Manager. Participate in prototype review for all newly developed products as needed. Review supplier documentation, including dimensional analysis, certifications, and SPC data. Develop and maintain necessary documentation and assist in its control. Qualifications Can read and interpret drawings, schematics, bills of materials. Has the ability to read and understand wiring and ladder diagrams. Has a solid understanding and experience using measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, multimeters, and other precision measuring devices. Has the ability to read, review, and create technical documents. Is detail oriented. Has basic computer skills in MS Word and Excel. Has good written and verbal communication skills. Has a high school diploma or GED plus work experience in quality inspection or blueprint diagram interpretation with precision measuring devices. Has post‑secondary training in mechanical, electrical, or technical engineering related disciplines. Has 1–3 years experience working in a manufacturing environment utilizing drawings and schematics. Preferred Qualifications Experience using an ERP system. Knowledgeable in GD&T, basic electrical testing, and welding inspection. Shift This is a day shift position running Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Physical Demands Stooping Standing Light lifting (occasional 25 lbs or less) Heavy lifting (occasional 25 lbs or more) Pushing/pulling between 75–100 lbs of force on lever arms during switch inspection on a frequent basis Benefits Wage range is typically between $22.15 and $28.55 per hour.
