The Manager of Family Services is a compassionate and values‑driven leader who plays a key role on the cemetery leadership team. This position provides strategic and pastoral leadership to the Family Services Advisor team, ensuring families receive attentive, respectful, and high‑quality service during times of need. Through mentorship, collaboration, and a strong ministry mindset, the Manager helps advance the mission of Catholic Cemeteries by fostering meaningful relationships with families, parishes, and the broader community. Responsibilities Staff Management and Ministry Leadership Provide leadership to the Family Services Advisor team to ensure established goals are achieved while delivering exceptional service to families; Ensure that Family Services Advisors (both in-office and field advisors) follow approved methods, training materials, and all policies and procedures; Provide initial and ongoing training and mentorship to the advisor team; Serve as a primary point of contact for advisors regarding pre-need and at-need services, aftercare processes, lead generation, prospecting, product knowledge, pricing, terms, documentation, compliance, and customer service; Collaborate with the Memorial Specialist to identify memorial program opportunities and establish key performance indicators; Ensure timely follow-up with families, monitoring communication and process through the cemetery management system. Family Engagement Oversee outreach programs that align with demographics, and parish communities served; Plan and participate in community events to build awareness and relationships; Contribute to the development of alternate service channels, including affinity partnerships; Grow and support the Christian market. Operations Support Review all pre-need and at-need cemetery contracts for compliance with applicable provincial and federal regulations; Approve discounts within established policy frameworks; Report on families served, income, expenses, and forecasts to the Leadership Team; Collaborate with the Operations Manager on project needs, including mapping and future development; Monitor and analyze market pricing; Maintain relevant marketing materials, training manuals, equipment, and other resources; Ensure that all programs, incentives and materials are budgeted, approved, and compliant with internal policy. Desired Skills and Experience Experience, education and training: Minimum of five (5) years’ experience leading, training, and managing a team in a service‑oriented environment; A bachelor’s degree in business management, marketing, or a related field is considered an asset. Knowledge skills and abilities: Knowledge of the Catholic Burial Tradition and guidelines for funerals; Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal; Ability to provide courteous and empathetic service to our grieving families; Strong attention to detail, with analytical and problem‑solving abilities; Strong collaborative approach with excellent listening skills; Ability to always maintain confidentiality; Ability to set clear, challenging, and achievable goals for team members; Self‑motivated with a strong ministry and service orientation; Proficiency with Windows‑based PC environments and Microsoft Office applications; Experience with Customer Relationship Management systems is an asset. Conditions of Employment Willingness to support the mission of the Church by extending the ministry of the Archbishop; Active member of a Catholic Parish; Demonstrates a model of servant leadership in all his/her endeavors, leading by serving others; Valid BC Driver’s License and reliable access to a vehicle for occasional travel within the Archdiocese of Vancouver; Ability to meet the Archdiocese of Vancouver’s Safe Environment policies; Must be compliant with all applicable personnel policies. This is a full‑time position. Core office hours are 8:30 – 5:00 PM. Normal operational days are Monday through Saturday; specific workdays will be determined by the Director in collaboration with the incumbent. It is understood that there may be evening and weekend work in order to fulfill the needs of this position; Salary range: $72,000 - $85,000.
