Wills Associates Limited, located in Peterborough, Ontario. Job Overview D.M. Wills Associates Limited is searching for a Senior Project Engineer to join our Structural (Bridge) Department. The ideal candidate will have a background in bridge engineering and project management. Reporting to the Structural (Bridge) Department Manager, you will manage projects from inception to completion and provide engineering services supporting various projects, including preliminary project planning, design, project management, review, and approval of assigned projects. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage structural and bridge engineering projects from proposal through completion, ensuring delivery on scope, schedule, and budget. Oversee project budgets, monitor financial performance, and ensure project profitability. Direct project teams—including engineers, designers, and sub‑consultants—to deliver high‑quality, coordinated structural solutions. Serve as the primary client contact, maintaining strong relationships through proactive communication and responsive service. Track project progress and prepare regular reports on cost, schedule, risks, and key milestones. Provide senior‑level technical oversight on bridge and structural design work to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and specifications. Review and approve design drawings, calculations, and reports for accuracy, constructability, and quality. Coordinate with internal teams, regulatory agencies, and external stakeholders to meet technical, environmental, and safety requirements. Manage project documentation, invoicing, and records within company systems. Mentor and support junior engineers and project staff, fostering technical excellence and professional growth. Promote the firm’s reputation through excellence in project delivery, client service, and technical leadership. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a focus on Structural (Bridge) Engineering. Licensed as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario. 7–10 years of experience in structural engineering/project management for municipal/provincial infrastructure projects. Demonstrated experience preparing detailed structural designs for bridges, culverts, and retaining walls. Demonstrated experience with detail design and tender document preparation. Strong practical knowledge of the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CSA S6), the MTO Structural Rehabilitation Manual, and other relevant design policies, standards, and specifications. Demonstrated experience working on highway, railway, or pedestrian bridge projects. Strong understanding of project management practices and principles. Demonstrated experience delivering bridge engineering projects with the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO) and/or municipalities. Demonstrated experience performing structural calculations and analysis using structural analysis software (SAP2000, MIDAS Civil).
