In this role you’ll focus on the SGT-A35 gas turbine at system, sub‑system and component levels from problem definition through to solution implementation. You’ll be part of multiple mechanical project design teams that are dynamic in nature. You will guide the teams by diving into product requirements, breaking them down to component level requirements, driving risk sessions against requirements, developing risk mitigation strategies, and developing the solution validation & verification strategy. On a day‑to‑day basis you’ll be engaging with various stakeholders representing all areas of our business and engineering to develop a congruent message from the project team to the business. If project activities call for it, you’ll define and coordinate the required development activities: bench test, engine build, engine test, and post‑test evidence gathering. Responsibilities You will work with technical specialists and the Product groups to capture and flow down requirements from GT System to sub‑system requirements. You will look for opportunities to build on prior knowledge and fleet experience to build the verification and validation strategy. Bringing all inputs together you will develop and drive structured verification plans to demonstrate compliance of the solution with the requirements. You will coordinate team input to understand how the engineering solution affects project and technical risk and develop risk treatment plans and propose mitigations. As the design solutions approach production, you will coordinate the validation and verification work with all the engineering functions involved: Mechanical Integrity; Aerothermal, Secondary Air systems, Thermals, Whole Engine Dynamics, Performance. In response to field failures, you will take part in root‑cause analysis for sub‑systems of which you’ve developed broad knowledge. Qualifications Motivated by driving the larger picture, putting together strategies, and ensuring execution against those strategies. Organized, structured, with experience in decision‑making through management of product requirements and risk management. Driven by being part of a multi‑disciplinary mechanical design team and bringing people together. Hold a bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or other Engineering disciplines. Member of the "l'Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec". This position is in a French‑speaking environment but requires fluency in English to comprehend documentation and technical terms from international sources, and to communicate with customers, suppliers, or international colleagues.
