You could join one of the following teams: Lead Closers: A high-impact team focused on helping Service Providers convert more leads into jobs. They design and deliver smart tools like lead management, pipeline views, win-back automation, and sales workflows to improve conversion rates and drive revenue. Sign Up & Trial: Helps small home service businesses understand how Jobber can solve their problems. They guide new Service Providers from trial to subscription by highlighting key moments that drive conversion. Harbour Foundations: Building the internal AI-powered customer journey. They create scalable, intelligent systems that provide visibility into AI-driven interactions to support the customer lifecycle. Expansion: Empowers users to make informed decisions by ensuring easy access to our solutions. Focus areas include upgrade/downgrade journeys and product-led discovery of features. The role Reporting to the Manager, Software Engineering, the Senior Software Engineer will collaborate with other Software Development members on a Scrum team to build an industry-leading product that helps our customers and their small businesses be successful. You will influence both a product and the team while continuing to develop your own craft. You should be a champion of best practices for well-tested, scalable, and well-organized code, and you will customize and extend tools and processes to increase your team’s effectiveness and mentor others. Responsibilities Be involved in the full lifecycle of a feature, from ideation to delivery and adoption Participate in code review and testing, driving engineering solutions to ensure consistent practices and reusable code Facilitate group discussions with team members and stakeholders to determine the best solution for customer problems Research, communicate, and advocate for best practices within your domain Mentor and coach junior teammates, helping them elevate their skills and careers Understand how and why customers work the way they do to improve features in Jobber’s online and mobile apps Utilize AI tools to enhance development practice, augmenting productivity while preserving human creativity and decision-making Requirements A demonstrated level of senior software engineering experience on a full-stack development team Experience with the full software development lifecycle in an Agile/Scrum framework A strong systems focus for building foundational software for large-scale applications Ability to move between features and projects with an interest in experimentation A structured understanding of common full-stack frameworks, architectures, technologies, and patterns An inquisitive mindset with the ability to ask questions and explore new ideas Ability to self-serve, take initiative, and find resources to accomplish a project Enthusiasm for delivering value early and often to customers Experience providing technical mentorship and sharing industry best practices Experience using developer AI tools like Copilot or Cursor Exposure to tech leadership is a plus Knowledge of Kafka and basic AWS (Lambda, ECS, EC2) is a plus Experience with Ruby on Rails, React, and GraphQL in production is a plus Hiring process An interview with a Talent team member (45 mins) A take-home challenge followed by a Functional Interview (90 mins) Where you can work Our product supports working in either an office or in the field. Compensation and benefits This role has a minimum annual salary of $125,800, a midpoint of $147,900, and a maximum of $170,100, with compensation designed to reflect growth and impact. The package includes equity rewards, annual health and wellness stipends, retirement savings matching, and an extended health plan with fully paid premiums. Base salary is part of a total compensation package that also includes a dedicated talent development program.
