The Opportunity In this role, you will take a central position in supporting the contract and commercial execution of complex projects within the power and energy sector. As a Senior Contract Manager at Hitachi Energy, you will review, manage, and in certain cases negotiate contracts that underpin critical energy solutions, ensuring business value is protected while risks are appropriately managed. You will collaborate closely with the business unit manager, Sales, Project Management, Legal, Finance, and Operations teams to support smooth project execution from contract review through delivery. Your work will directly influence how projects are structured, reviewed, and delivered—helping ensure contractual clarity, risk transparency, and alignment with customer commitments. By advising stakeholders on contractual obligations and exposures, you will contribute to informed decision‑making and stronger project outcomes. This role offers exposure to large, complex contracts and provides opportunities to strengthen commercial judgment while supporting energy solutions that contribute to a reliable and sustainable power system. How You’ll Make an Impact Review and negotiate contract terms, including Master and Blanket Agreements Coordinate closely with Sales, Project Management, Legal, Finance, and Operations to align contractual execution Monitor project milestones to support timely execution and proactive risk mitigation Advise internal stakeholders on contractual obligations, exposures, and risk considerations Prepare and deliver regular contract status reports to support senior management visibility Safeguard organizational value through appropriate contract administration and confidentiality controls Support Sales as the primary contractual interface for large and complex customer agreements Run and support risk review processes for assigned project and contract areas Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines Your Background Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in Canada. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, or a related discipline 10+ years of relevant professional experience, preferably within EPC, developer power systems, or construction environments Experience managing a portfolio of complex contracts within a technology‑driven or industrial setting Able to communicate and negotiate effectively with customers and internal stakeholders Proficient with Microsoft Office productivity tools, including Office 365, SharePoint, and Teams Fluent in written and spoken French and English More About Us In this role, you will collaborate with experienced professionals across the energy sector while strengthening your commercial and contractual expertise within a global organization.
