Our client in the fintech space is seeking a fulltime/permanent Engineering Manager to lead and scale the Data & AI Engineering team. Location: remote Responsibilities Manage and develop a team of data and AI engineers, fostering technical excellence, career growth, and a collaborative culture. Establish clear goals and success metrics, track execution, and partner with stakeholders to align on priorities and deliverables. Own the long-term technical vision for data architecture, scalable pipelines, AI/ML model deployment, and related frameworks. Balance new feature development with architectural quality and technical debt management to enable sustainable velocity. Guide the design and evolution of scalable, efficient data systems, model deployment workflows, and monitoring/observability practices. Partner closely with Product and Design leadership to deeply understand customer needs and drive aligned solutions. Work with Platform, Security, and broader Engineering teams to deliver robust, secure, and compliant solutions. Requirements 8+ years in software engineering with at least 2+ years in direct people management and 3–5 years of experience on data/AI engineering teams. Experience with scalable, customer-facing data products and strong architectural understanding of data platforms and distributed systems. Familiarity with cloud services, data lakehouse technologies (e.g., Databricks/Spark), containerization (e.g., Kubernetes), and CI/CD practices. Knowledge of ML concepts and experience with modern AI technologies (e.g., generative AI, RAG frameworks). Strong communicator with the ability to influence across technical and non-technical audiences and shape team culture. Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with a people-first leadership mindset.
