Manufacturing Engineer Position Overview The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for interpreting and translating design engineering specifications into accurate bills of material (BOMs) and production routings within the company’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. By ensuring design intent is efficiently and precisely reflected in manufacturing data, this role supports process improvements and effective production operations. This position operates within both office and manufacturing floor settings, requiring frequent interaction with various teams and regular hands‑on evaluation of production processes to ensure alignment with engineering designs. The Manufacturing Engineer reports to the Director of Operations & Engineering and works in close coordination with production, supply chain, and IT teams. Responsibilities Review design engineering specifications and drawings, converting them into detailed and accurate manufacturing bills of material (MBOMs) in the ERP system to match production requirements. Interpret engineering documentation to develop, modify, and maintain routing information such as operation sequence, work centers, and labor standards in the ERP system. Ensure Engineering Change Notices (ECN’s) are implemented appropriately at the plant level. Collaborate with production, supply chain, and quality teams to validate BOMs and routing changes, ensuring manufacturability and compliance with specifications. Analyze manufacturing processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and advance lean manufacturing initiatives. Troubleshoot and resolve ERP data issues related to BOMs, routings and operation timings, working closely with IT support as needed. Ensure all updates to manufacturing data are compliant with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Document and communicate revisions to BOMs and routings, providing training and support as required to stakeholders across the organization. Participate in ERP system upgrades, testing, and implementation of new modules relevant to manufacturing operations and data management. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Experience working with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment (e.g., IFS, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.). Strong ability to interpret and translate design engineering documentation into manufacturable BOMs and routings. Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills. Ability to communicate technical information clearly with cross‑functional teams. Attention to detail and dedication to data accuracy. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant engineering software. Additional Assets Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma certification. Experience with process mapping and continuous improvement projects. Knowledge of regulatory standards relevant to manufacturing (e.g., ISO, FDA, etc.).
