Senior Associate – Assurance & Accounting Location: Richmond Hill, ON Department: Assurance & Accounting Reports to: Assurance Manager / Partner Salary Range: $80,000 – $95,000 CAD Job Type: Full-time Work Model: Hybrid (4 days/week in office mandatory) The Client: The client is a leading professional services firm providing Assurance, Accounting, Tax, Advisory, Forensics, and Valuation services. What you will achieve in this role: Execute audit and review engagements from planning through completion Develop engagement programs, including risk assessments and materiality calculations Apply firm audit and accounting methodologies across a variety of client engagements Prepare corporate, personal, trust, and partnership tax returns Prepare T4, T5, NR4 information slips, GST/HST, EHT, WSIB, ETD calculations, and related compliance filings Prepare tax schedules and working papers within CaseWare Prepare financial statements and draft tax returns for diverse client portfolios Distinguish between compilation and assurance engagements and apply appropriate standards Provide coaching and mentorship to junior staff members Manage multiple concurrent engagements and deadlines in a fast-moving environment Collaborate with administration on client onboarding, documentation, and workflow processes Maintain daily timesheets, attend meetings, and communicate engagement status updates What you must bring to this role: 2–3 years of public accounting experience Experience with IFRS, ASPE, NPO, and/or Public Sector accounting frameworks Strong tax compliance knowledge Excellent client service and relationship-building skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience with CaseWare considered an asset Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Working Conditions: Hybrid work model with four days per week required in-office in Richmond Hill Fast-paced public accounting environment with strict client deadlines Regular interaction with partners, managers, staff, and cross-functional teams Full background check required Only candidates selected for further consideration will be contacted This posting is intended to fill an existing vacancy Additional Information: Competitive compensation package Annual performance bonus 3+ weeks of vacation Education Assistance Program Divisional rewards plan Client and employee referral programs Social events and collaborative culture Opportunities to progress into specialized service lines Applications are reviewed by the recruitment team and may include technology-assisted screening tools How to Apply: If you are a CPA-designated public accounting professional seeking a dynamic, growth-oriented firm where you can expand your assurance and tax expertise, please submit your resume outlining your qualifications and relevant experience.
