Ground Service Equipment Shop Supervisor Kelowna, BC, CA 5 days ago Requisition ID: 1859 Salary Range: $73,000.00 To $91,000.00 Annually JOB OVERVIEW The Ground Equipment Services Shop Supervisor reports to the Manager, Ground Assets and Facilities and is responsible for leading and supporting the Ground Service Equipment Shop team that maintains company ground service equipment across Canada. The main responsibilities of the Supervisor include ensuring employee maximum productivity, employee development, acting as the communication link between internal customers and locations, determining the sequence of operations to be performed as well as scheduling, prioritizing, maintaining quality levels and ensuring effective cost control monitoring. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Supervisor for employees in the roles of Ground Service Equipment Shop mechanics and Ramp Services Tech Maintains clear oversight of mechanics at Vancouver airport (YVR) and support of Hamilton airport (YHM) facilities Providing coaching and feedback to employees, addressing employee performance issues, and conducting performance appraisals Keeps sightlines on equipment at other locations throughout Canada and liaise with contract mechanics Coordinating and allocating staff between tasks and locations for repairs to optimize efficiency Support the standardization of procedures and asset placement and control across company Ensure accurate use of CMMS (Limble) management system for asset management and employee task division Creating, maintaining and approving staff schedule; ensuring accurate use of timecards and project numbers Creates and maintains a positive work environment Ensures safe work practices and safe work conditions Participating in selection process for new employees Supports employees in conflict resolution Supports employees in effective team interaction and personal growth Training Ongoing support of staff and continuous learning/training of new procedures Ensure all required training is completed and up to date Documentation Sourcing equipment and quotes and setting out a clean business plan Doing business cases for end‑of‑life planning and purchasing replacement equipment Completes and documents staff schedules and time sheets; ensures accurate and appropriate project coding is applied to all hours worked Equipment Maintenance Responsible for overall maintenance of equipment through supervision of Ground Service Equipment mechanics and contractors Responsible to prioritize equipment maintenance requirements and compliance Maintaining parts and shops supplies for all locations Coordinating and allocating staff between jobs to optimize efficiency Auditing the quality of work performed Customer Service Organizes information and communicates clearly Sets a positive example for team employees in providing professional, efficient customer service and troubleshooting and maintaining a calm and professional approach in urgent situations Making recommendations to the manager and generating alternatives; ensuring operational risks are clearly communicated Receiving and actioning customer feedback on the quality and efficiency of facilities services provided and researching to improve deficiencies REQUIREMENTS Mechanically inclined – certified auto mechanic preferred Minimum three years related supervisory experience (Supervising specifically in a Shop environment preferred) Completion of Leadership & Management training or willingness to complete Solid knowledge of KF Health & Safety Policies & Procedures Proficient in MS Office Suite; Proficient in M3 an asset Solid analytical and problem‑solving skills Ability to see the big picture while maintaining high level of accuracy Ability to handle conflict with strong interpersonal communication and relationship building skills Must be a motivated self‑starter with strong initiative, positive attitude and strong work ethic Demonstrated customer orientation Demonstrated organizational, time management skills and attention to detail Able to work effectively independently and as part of a team Must be physically fit (ie: lifting, standing, reaching, climbing step ladders) Experience with equipment operation (forklift, etc.) preferred General understanding of Transport Canada regulations as applicable is an asset Restricted Area Identification Card (Red Pass / RAIC) certification required (completed in‑house post‑hire; requires background check) BENEFITS Health and Dental Personal (Wellness) Spending Account Paid vacation and Personal time off Pension matching plan and voluntary RRSP Employee & Family Assistance Program A bonus program based on organizational performance SALARY The wage band is KF level 9 $73,000-$91,000.
