The Operations Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, supervising, and overseeing all operational activities to ensure the company functions efficiently and safely. The role includes developing, implementing, and evaluating improvements that enhance productivity, service quality, and customer satisfaction while maintaining high standards of safety and compliance. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership Ensure customer service is courteous, professional, and efficient for all product-related inquiries (excluding fuel). Accountable for post-sales customer satisfaction and follow-up. Maintain and develop relationships with service providers. Oversee inventory levels for supplies, products, and equipment; manage routine operational purchases (major purchases handled by ÉRIC). Supervise and validate inventory tracking for fuel and equipment. Establish and monitor thresholds for incoming and outgoing resources; approve product fluctuations. Support the sales, market development, and product development functions in collaboration with the General Manager and Sales Manager. Provide management with essential analysis and insights to support informed decision-making. Lead regular follow-up meetings with departmental staff and the management team. Mobilize, support, and engage team members to ensure alignment, performance, and collaboration. Compliance & Standards Ensure adherence to all laws, policies, standards, procedures, and the employee handbook. Demonstrate rigor, vigilance, objectivity, and consistency in all verifications and compliance activities. Prepare and present budget forecasts; ensure compliance with approved budgets and analyze variances prior to presentations to management. Develop, maintain, and monitor dashboards and performance indicators. Approve departmental purchases and expenses. Produce required reports for senior management. Coordinate the execution of special projects assigned by senior leadership. Health, Safety, and Environment Support the implementation of health, safety, and environmental programs, and maintain communication with relevant government authorities. Training and Certification Management Validate the deployment of mandatory continuing training programs to ensure ongoing skill development and regulatory compliance. Collaboration with Other Departments Ensure operational coordination between the operations team and all other departments within the company. Qualifications Ontario College Diploma (2-year) or Ontario College Advanced Diploma (3-year) in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Management, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite. Strong abilities in planning, organizing, directing, and controlling operations. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; capable of managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines. Highly organized, rigorous, and capable of prioritizing effectively. Strong commitment to safety and customer service excellence. Excellent interpersonal skills. Proven ability to lead and develop a team. Work Conditions 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (with flexibility depending on responsibilities and occasional weekend coverage). Based in Sudbury. Required presence across all Petronor sites. Eligible for a performance bonus. Tools & Equipment Provided Vehicle allowance. Personal protective equipment.
