Position Overview Regional Operations Manager – Ottawa & Quebec Regions Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Regional Operations Manager acts as the primary point of contact for restaurants, partnering with managers and franchisees to develop and facilitate capabilities that deliver results within assigned restaurants. The role includes audits and inspections to ensure brand standard adherence, action plan development, and accountability for key financial and performance measures such as sales, operational performance, guest experience scores, food safety, and associate engagement. Responsibilities Deliver a perfect guest experience by establishing and building trust with managers or franchisees, conducting focused restaurant visits, and coaching on operational intensity. Conduct restaurant operations evaluations according to the annual brand plans, covering brand standards, front‑of‑house, back‑of‑house, safety and security, employee relations, and food safety. Observe, assess, and score restaurants based on pre‑set brand standard audits. Coach managers, franchisees, and employees in real‑time to inspire behavior change. Communicate and share brand standards and resources to remedy audit gaps. Identify gaps, opportunities, and root causes; share findings with managers and franchisees. Coordinate solutions to identified gaps through hourly training tools and ongoing action plans. Flag audit issues and resolve them promptly, reporting trends during meetings and one‑on‑one discussions. Liaise with brand leadership to address negative impacts on guest experience metrics. Prepare for audits by staying informed on financial performance, past audit results, action plan progress, key indicators, and food safety trends; flag unresolved actions. Lead all aspects of new restaurant openings and support new establishments to meet business goals. Visit restaurants at required frequencies per the segmentation model. Provide marketing support to multiple franchisees across various brands. Team Development – Employee Engagement Coach and develop employees to deliver excellent guest experiences and support their individual development plans in corporate locations. Provide developmental feedback to enhance leadership capabilities within restaurants. Ensure the region is fully staffed with qualified personnel by following approved selection processes, retaining top associates, and maintaining a pipeline of ready candidates. Financial and Profitability Establish clear business goals and financial targets with managers and franchisees. Suggest operational improvements that drive same‑restaurant sales or reduce costs. Identify opportunities and best practices to improve profitability. Perform quarterly business updates for the region. Food Safety and Compliance Ensure compliance with employment standards, human rights, health and safety, and WHMIS within the region. Ensure effective implementation and compliance with food safety programs. Challenges Large geographic territory with multiple units, requiring travel. Work with a variety of personalities. Develop cohesive relationships with the restaurant support center and field teams. Stay current on all brand standards and changes. Understand menu specifications clearly. Conduct detailed audits routinely throughout the year. Drive adoption and sustainability of new systems and tools across the brand. Facilitate workshops and presentations. Requirements Five years of experience managing multi‑unit franchise restaurants. Operations experience considered an asset. MAPAQ certification in food hygiene and safety. Strategic thinking and results‑oriented mindset. Excellent communication and conflict‑management skills. Influencing abilities and strong teamwork skills. Training experience required.
