English version below, French version will follow: About the role The GIS LiDAR Specialist is responsible for processing, analyzing, and validating LiDAR data to support geospatial and infrastructure projects. This role involves working with large datasets, ensuring data accuracy, and contributing to the production of high-quality spatial deliverables. What you'll do Process and classify LiDAR point cloud data using industry-standard software Perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) on LiDAR datasets Extract features such as roadways, pavement markings, terrain models, and infrastructure elements Generate Digital Elevation Models (DEM), Digital Terrain Models (DTM), and other derived products Validate spatial data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency Support integration of LiDAR data with GIS, imagery, and other geospatial datasets Assist in developing and maintaining workflows, scripts, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) Collaborate with GIS analysts, project coordinators, and engineering teams to meet project requirements Troubleshoot data issues and provide technical support as needed Maintain documentation of processes, methodologies, and project outputs Qualifications Diploma or degree in Geomatics, GIS, Geography, Surveying, Engineering Technology, or a related field 1–3 years of experience working with LiDAR or point cloud data (entry-level candidates with strong technical skills may be considered) Proficiency with LiDAR processing software (e.g., TerraScan, LAStools, Global Mapper, ArcGIS, QGIS) Familiarity with point cloud formats (LAS/LAZ) and coordinate systems Understanding of geospatial data concepts and spatial accuracy standards Experience with scripting (Python, SQL, or similar) is an asset Soft Skills Strong attention to detail and data accuracy Analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to manage large datasets efficiently Strong organizational and time management skills Effective communication and teamwork abilities #J-18808-Ljbffr
