Job Description The Software Product Manager engages with business partners in Operations & supporting groups to proactively identify opportunities, gather requirements, evaluate business cases, prioritize backlogs, and manage delivery using agile methodologies. This role bridges the gap between business needs and technical execution, driving the development of innovative software solutions that directly impact operations and customer experience. The incumbent is a subject‑matter expert of operations, processes, data mapping, workflows, and applications. Key Job Responsibilities Engage with Operations, business process owners, and other product managers to evaluate repair management process and IT application improvement opportunities. Analyze data to define business requirements for enhancements or projects that change operations‑related applications, software, and integrations. Proactively identify and define process‑improvement opportunities that align with strategic business goals; elicit, analyze, and document requirements and define value‑driven KPIs and OKRs. Create and manage a 12‑month product roadmap, capture solution designs and development estimates, and lead strategic planning sessions to establish product vision. Lead an Agile sprint team as Product Owner, refining and prioritizing backlog, mapping user stories, leading sprint planning and demos, and testing deliverables against acceptance criteria. Manage the full product lifecycle, including go‑to‑market plans, solution development, and proof‑of‑concepts; synthesize business requirements into user stories. Foster and manage relationships with business partners and IT engineering partners; lead opportunity reviews, process reviews, stakeholder meetings, and collaborate with PMO on project charters and capacity planning. Define requirements for system performance, resiliency, privacy, and security; create UI models and report mock‑ups; manage go‑to‑market and launch requirements for new products. Coordinate cross‑functional initiatives and manage mitigation plans for issues and risks with other Product Managers, Engineering Leads, Scrum Masters, and Project Managers. Engage with product and support teams, vendors, and SaaS providers to drive solutions, estimates, and business outcomes. Resolve application‑related issues by assisting peers and IT support teams, analyzing data, and troubleshooting root causes. Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in a related field. 5+ years of IT product management experience. 5+ years of business process analysis experience. 5+ years in Agile software development (Scrum, SAFE, Kanban). 2+ years of experience in the automotive repair industry. Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Proven product development and product‑management lifecycle expertise. Ability to lead teams without direct authority. Demonstrated ability to drive targeted results and outcomes. Strong critical‑thinking skills. Effective communication at all organizational levels. Strong foundation in data analysis, data‑driven decision making, and KPI definition. In‑depth knowledge of order management, production planning, procurement, and other processes in the automotive repair industry. Influence and build relationships. Client‑driven, process‑driven, metric‑focused, results‑oriented, organized, self‑directed. Understanding of end‑to‑end business processes such as order‑to‑cash and procure‑to‑pay. Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Strong business acumen and innovative, creative thinking. Hands‑on experience with automotive collision repair applications (e.g., CCC, All Data, OPS). User story mapping techniques and meeting facilitation skills. Ability to mentor and teach other business analysts and IT staff on shop operations processes. Preferred Education and Experience Technical IT background (coding, systems analysis, or development team experience). Certifications in Pragmatic Marketing, Certified Product Manager (CPM), SAFE, or Scrum Product Owner (CSPO). IT project‑management experience. Experience working with an IT PMO as a Product Manager. Other Requirements Must be flexible to travel within the U.S. & Canada if needed.
