Risk Consultant – Machinery Breakdown Engineering Remote – Toronto, Canada U.S. base salary range: CAD 107,400 – 157,400. Actual pay will be determined based upon individual’s skills, experience and location. We strive for market alignment and internal equity. What You’ll Be Doing Conduct onsite visits to assess machinery breakdown exposures and develop detailed reports, relay conditions, and provide recommendations for improvement. Work hand in hand with the network of specialized engineers of AXA XL Risk Consulting to serve clients. Demonstrate the value of risk engineering services by building credibility and creating strong customer satisfaction. Participate in Toronto office meetings and other client‑facing presentations as required. Work directly with complex clients in industries such as mining and pulp and paper to improve their machinery breakdown risk profile, including multi‑day in‑person loss‑prevention visits and virtual or in‑person meetings to update status of recommendations or projects. Service our North Central USA territory of insured clients. Travel is anticipated to be 30‑35%. Some travel to Canada anticipated. Required Skills and Abilities Engineering or Science based undergraduate degree. Work collaboratively as part of a team, proactively across lines of business, and effectively with internal and external partners on special projects and furthering industry and business goals. Self‑starter, continually looking toward individual development; capable of managing schedule and resources, assessing workload against business priorities, and directing own efforts while working in a remote environment. Ability to apply industry experience to a broad range of customers and projects, consult effectively on a broad range of machinery breakdown risk controls, and identify exposures/assess controls on complex risks. Listen effectively and make sound assessments/conclusions based on review of written procedures, documents, discussions, and observations. Communicate effectively with a broad range of underwriting and customer partners. Make technical information and recommendations understandable to a broad range of audiences, influencing others to accept and act on recommendations. National board certification and relevant experience with TSSA is a plus. Bi‑lingual language skills (English & French) is a plus. Valid driver’s license required. Open to additional locations in Canada if the candidate has extensive experience/background in mining, pulp and paper.
