Onyx-Fire Protection Services is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Data Analyst/ Business Intelligence Analyst to join our growing finance team. This role is ideal for a finance professional with 5+ years of experience and proven expertise in financial analysis, particularly creating Power BI dashboards. You'll be working for a one-year contract position covering a maternity leave. This position requires working on-site four days per week, and must be comfortable commuting to and working from our head office in Mississauga. You will play a key role in driving data-informed decision-making to support our strategic objectives and operational excellence in the fire protection industry. Responsibilities: Lead the development of financial analysis and dashboards in PowerBI to support data-driven decisions across Onyx-Fire Protection Services. Design and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards to visualize KPIs, financial trends, and operational performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Operations, Sales, HR) to support strategic initiatives, cost optimization, and revenue growth. Prepare and present monthly and quarterly financial reports to senior leadership and stakeholders. Identify and implement improvements in financial processes, reporting accuracy, data quality, and automation. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering or a related field. Master’s degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field is a plus. 5 years of experience in financial planning, analysis, or corporate finance. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI (DAX, Power Query, data modeling). Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and business operations. Experience with ERP systems and financial planning tools is a plus. Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience with SQL or other data analysis tools. Familiarity with automation tools or scripting (e.g., Python, R) is a plus. Prior experience in a dynamic, high-growth environment or industry-specific knowledge (e.g., fire protection, construction, manufacturing).
