Edgewater Industrial employs Pipefitters, Electricians, Pressure Welders and Gas Fitters.Location: Northern OntarioProject: Industrial Refinery Project SiteJob Type: Full-Time / Project AssignmentWork Schedule/Shift Rotation: 14/7 rotationHours per Day: 10 hours per day (7:00 am to 5:30 pm - 1/2 hour unpaid lunch)Travel/Accommodations/Meals: ProvidedPosition Summary The Electrical Superintendent is responsible for directing and supervising all electrical construction activities, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, codes, and quality standards.Scope of Work Installation of with New Processing Equipment and Systems.Key ResponsibilitiesPull electrical work permits.Manage and supervise electrical construction project from start to finishConduct quality control inspections to maintain high standardsEnsure compliance with state safety regulationsLead crews in planning and execution of work frontsDevelop/maintain Inspection and Test Reports pertaining to high-voltage electrical items such as transformers, motors, gear switch, etc.Developing site electrical practices as needed for state requirementsOversee and mentor site electriciansOther duties as assignedSafety and Environmental LeadershipPromote and enforce a strong safety cultureEnsure compliance with Site safety programs and permitsLead daily toolbox talks and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs)Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementationCoordinate electrical activities with: Mechanical installation (tanks, reactors, filters, pumps)Structural steel and pipe rack installationElectrical and instrumentation teamsSubcontractors and vendorsSupport short-interval planning and schedule trackingIdentify manpower, material, or equipment constraints and elevate earlyCost and Resource ManagementManage labor productivity, equipment utilization, and materials to meet budget and schedule targetsSupport field cost tracking, forecasting, and progress reportingReview and approve timesheets, crew allocations, and equipment needsLeadership and CommunicationLead and mentor electrical foremen, supervisors, and craft personnelMaintain clear communication with:Construction and project managementEngineering and QA/QC teamsClient and owner representativesProvide regular progress updates and actively participate in coordination meetingsLeadership, mentoring, and communication skills, vital for building a cohesive, efficient, and motivated construction teamStrong problem‑solving skills and meticulous attention to detailAbility to build strong relationships and foster a culture of safety, integrity, and teamwork, essential for maintaining a positive and productive work environmentProficiency in Microsoft Office suite, alongside the capacity to quickly adapt to computer software programs necessary for managing employee administrative tasks such as timecardsDemonstrated stress and time management competencies, crucial for managing the demands of a high‑pressure work environmentQualifications and Experience Required:Red Seal or Journeyperson Electrician Certification10+ years of experience in industrial electrician construction5+ years in a superintendent or senior supervisory roleValid driver's licenseStrong experience with:Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometrics, and construction drawingsProven leadership, planning, and problem‑solving skillsKnowledge of construction estimating and budgeting processFamiliar with quality control procedures in electrical workAbility to work in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining attention to detailExperience in material tracking, handling, and preservationCertifications (Asset)First Aid / CPRConfined Space, Hot Work, and Chemical Handling trainingWorking at HeightsWHMIS#J-18808-Ljbffr
