Who we’re looking for: You will lead the development and scaling of native mobile applications that solve complex challenges for our customers, using cutting‑edge technologies including iOS and Android development frameworks. In this role, you’ll focus on engineering innovative solutions that enhance our most widely used mobile apps: My Rogers & My Account. You will drive both engineering strategy and execution, ensuring our mobile app development efforts meet the evolving needs of our customers and align with the company’s broader goals. What you’ll do: Lead a team of Technical Delivery professionals responsible for delivering end‑to‑end solutions across mobile app technology, ensuring that all mobile tools meet high performance standards. Drive mobile app development initiatives across iOS and Android platforms to deliver high‑quality digital experiences, empowering the Product team to take advantage of mobile‑app‑specific capabilities. Own the full stack from delivery to operations of mobile solutions, from backend infrastructure and APIs to frontend applications, ensuring seamless integration and a consistent user experience. Define strategy and roadmap for mobile app technology, ensuring alignment with business objectives, improving customer experience, and empowering users with innovative features. Collaborate with Web, AI and Agent Facing application teams to synchronize feature release, optimize costs for high re‑use of developments across applications. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including Product, Design, Data Science, and Operations, to integrate new features and continuously enhance both customer‑facing and internal tools. Manage large‑scale mobile projects from ideation through to execution, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet defined KPIs. Provide technical leadership and guidance to team members, ensuring the successful delivery of high‑quality software solutions. Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to define project requirements and ensure alignment with business goals. Oversee the overall project architecture and design, ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards. Assign tasks and responsibilities among team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment. Conduct code reviews and identify and resolve technical issues and challenges that arise during the development process. Build cloud‑native solutions using Platform‑as‑a‑Service (PaaS) technologies to enhance scalability, performance, and operational efficiency for mobile systems. Lead foundational services development leveraging industry standards to ensure seamless integration across domain services, microservices, and experience layer services such as GraphQL, enabling flexibility and interoperability across platforms. Optimize engineering processes, improve monitoring capabilities, and leverage automation for cost efficiency and improved system performance across mobile technologies. Collaborate with frontline teams to gather feedback, ensuring mobile technology meets the needs of internal users and empowers them to deliver outstanding customer experiences. Stay ahead of mobile app trends and emerging technologies to ensure we are using the most effective tools to build competitive and innovative solutions. What You Need to Succeed: Expertise in iOS and Android development frameworks, with a focus on native app development. Experience in digital engineering, managing and scaling engineering teams that develop mobile applications. Strong leadership in Agile environments, with a track record of managing engineering squads that deliver products quickly and efficiently. Experience with cloud‑based platforms, microservices architecture, and DevOps methodologies. Strong foundation in building cloud‑native applications using PaaS technologies and microservices, ensuring high scalability and performance. Deep knowledge of industry standards and how they can be applied to ensure seamless connectivity across domain services, microservices, and experience layer services like GraphQL. Exceptional ability to collaborate across product, data science, and operational teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet both business and technical requirements. Results‑driven with a strong focus on KPIs, ensuring engineering output is aligned with business outcomes. Proficiency in optimization tools such as 5‑why analysis, A/B testing, and performance benchmarking to continually improve products. Proven ability to present technical strategies and trade‑offs to senior leadership, translating complex engineering topics into clear business value. Experience driving continuous improvement, ensuring the engineering processes are efficient and solutions are optimized for performance and cost savings. Curiosity and creativity, with a willingness to explore new ideas and tackle complex problems with an open mind. What you bring: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. 5+ years of experience leading mobile app development, with a focus on scaling technologies in a fast‑paced, agile environment. Proven expertise in cloud platforms, mobile app development frameworks, and emerging technologies.
