Reporting to the Director, Metallurgy and Surface Operations, they oversee, in collaboration with their fellow superintendent, the operational activities of the ore processing and surface facilities. They supervise the metallurgy and analytical laboratory teams. The Superintendent adheres to the company’s principles by adopting a management approach focused on sustainable development. Main Responsibilities: Ensure safe production and alignment of operational activities at the ore processing plant and surface facilities, in collaboration with the superintendent on the opposite rotation. Plan, organize, direct, and control operations in the sector. Develop, maintain, modify, and improve metallurgical strategies for the ore and water treatment plants. Supervise the metallurgy and analytical laboratory teams, including engineers, supervisors, technicians, and refiners. Support the team in solving production and personnel management challenges. Set and guide the achievement of team objectives. Ensure proper functioning of all activities and compliance with procedures. Manage the metallurgical accounting system to enable reliable and continuous monitoring of plant performance. Provide support and expertise for the smooth operation of the metallurgical lab, analytical lab, and refinery. Participate in incident investigations and develop action plans. Contribute to departmental budget preparation and cost tracking. Collaborate with colleagues in process operations, surface services, maintenance, and planning to ensure cohesion across sectors and achieve common goals. Supervise and evaluate subordinates and plan their professional development. Know, respect, and promote company regulations and policies, especially regarding health and safety. Perform any other related duties as required. Education and Experience: University degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemistry, or equivalent. Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in ore processing, with strong exposure to gold operations and management. Previous experience in a gold processing analytical lab is an asset.
