This role is highly hands‑on and focused on performance, scalability, and semantic modeling for complex enterprise datasets.The engineer will work closely with data engineers and business stakeholders to address challenges related to large data volumes, refresh latency, and cost optimization, while supporting ongoing migration from SSRS / SSAS-style models to modern analytics platforms.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop enterprise-­grade Power BI reports and dashboardsBuild and optimize semantic models using DAX, Power Query and tabular modeling conceptsImplement DirectQuery, Composite Models, and Aggregations to handle large data volumesOptimize report performance and large dataset export capabilitiesSupport migration from SSRS (Paginated Reports) and legacy BI solutions to Power BICollaborate with data engineering teams to align data structures for analytics consumptionApply row-­level security (RLS) and governance best practicesAct as a technical escalation point for Power BI performance and modeling issuesWorkplace This is a remote role requiring full-time Eastern timezone working hours and travel to Toronto office once per quarter.
