About the Opportunity Payroll Processing: Process semi-monthly payroll and complete journal entries for 200+ employees across Canada, including salaried and contractors Process bi-weekly payroll for 70+ hourly employees in Ontario. Prepare bi-weekly time and attendance reports and complete the applicable journal entries. Ensure compliance with federal and provincial regulations regarding deductions, taxes, and benefits. Complete processing of car allowance and Concur expense payments Manage payroll-related activities, including new hires, terminations, transfers, salary adjustments, and bonuses with precision and integrity Lead and maintain all aspects of the Company’s group benefits programs (Health, RRSP, etc.), and ensure employees are well informed about benefits-related matters. This includes leading the annual review and the renewal of Health, Dental, and other benefits as applicable. Government Remittances and Reporting Review payroll-related remittances, including income tax, CPP, and EI contributions Prepare and maintain records of employment on Service Canada Generate T4, T2200 and RL-1 slips for year-end reporting Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations Employee Inquiries and Support Deliver superior customer service, ensuring a maximum of 48‑hour turnaround for all inquiries arising from questions relating to payroll, from employee, management, and external government agencies Assist employees with inquiries related to payroll, deductions, benefits, RRSP, direct deposit setup, tax forms, and other payroll-related matters Collaborate with People & Culture to resolve any discrepancies or issues promptly Record Keeping and Compliance Maintain accurate and detailed payroll records and documentation, including employee data, earnings, and deductions. Reconcile payroll accounts and ensure accuracy in the General Ledger. Support internal and external audits. Innovation: Drive and contribute to special projects by identifying, analyzing, and implementing functional enhancements and automation to our system as it relates to HR/payroll functions and processes. This involves completing research, proposing solutions, and driving change management. Other duties as assigned About You Minimum 5-10 years full-cycle payroll processing experience Certification as a Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) is required; Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) is a strong asset Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred) Proficiency in payroll software (preferably ADP Workforce Now) Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail High degree of accuracy and takes ownership of their work Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines Computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word is required. Strong Excel experience is a must (VLOOKUP, Pivot tables, troubleshooting formulas) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience dealing with confidential and sensitive information. Demonstrated judgement and understanding of the importance and value of data integrity Knowledge of federal and provincial payroll legislation and statutory requirements Must currently reside within the Greater Toronto Area and be permitted to work in Canada Pay Range $80,000 - $100,000 per year #J-18808-Ljbffr
