Purpose The Senior Manager, Strategic Business Initiatives identifies, develops and leads the implementation of high‑impact projects and strategies that support ScotiaMcLeod’s long‑term vision and goals. Responsibilities Lead development and execution of strategic initiatives that require direct interaction with key stakeholders including Technology, Finance, HR Services, Operations, Compliance, Marketing and other key business partners across all Scotia Wealth Management business lines. Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and internal assessments to identify opportunities for growth and improvement. Work closely with senior leadership to ensure alignment and buy‑in for strategic initiatives. Manage assigned projects, including scope, budget, risk, resources, plan, and internal/external communications. Secure appropriate resources and support to ensure initiatives are completed correctly, on time and on budget. Support the leadership team in planning, implementing, and monitoring internal, cross‑functional programs and procedures. Proactively identify initiatives and processes that contribute to efficient and effective operation of the business. Lead frequent meetings with appropriate parties to keep projects and initiatives on track. Maintain an active list of initiatives, identify responsible stakeholders, and set timelines for implementation. Develop and implement change management activities specifically related to projects and initiatives assigned. Coordinate with internal partners, including Communications. Lead and actively engage in identifying improvement opportunities and process efficiencies to create overall effectiveness while consulting with key partners and stakeholders. Qualifications Project Management (PMP) and/or Lean Six Sigma certification is an asset. 5+ years of experience in corporate strategy, consulting focused on wealth management, banking, or financial services industry. Strong quantitative, analytical, and conceptual problem‑solving skills combined with outstanding business acumen and attention to detail. Strong organization and project management skills, with the ability and desire to work in a fast‑paced, challenging, and dynamic environment. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with stakeholders with varying cross‑cultural and language differences. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with other teams and senior executives. Ability to effectively manage relationships across the Bank, partners, and external vendors. Advanced knowledge in financial analysis. Advanced leadership skills in building strategic relationships and customer focus. Advanced knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
