Assistant/Associate/Full Professor, Pediatric Neurologist, Division of Pediatric Neurology Location: Edmonton, AB, Canada (Hybrid) Job Type: Full Time Description: The University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, in partnership with Alberta Health Services (AHS), invites applications for an academic position within the Division of Pediatric Neurology (with a focus on neuromuscular disorders) in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Alberta. This position is a part of the Alberta Academic Medicine and Health Services Program (AMHSP). This position is a 1.0 full-time equivalent and includes negotiated and committed protected time for research and other academic pursuits. The position will be a 60% clinical commitment to Stollery Children's Hospital and the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital. Expertise in Electromyography and nerve Conduction Studies (EMG/NCS) is required. The proposed position will be comprised of (but is negotiable): 60% clinical service 5% Administration 20% Research 15% Clinical Teaching The successful candidate will contribute to education at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including the Royal College-accredited subspecialty training program in Pediatric Neurology. Responsibilities Provide inpatient and outpatient care to Pediatric Neurology patients, including but not limited to inpatient consultation and follow up (General service, Neuro‑Critical Care Service), general and subspecialty outpatient clinics, as well as on‑call schedule. Conduct pediatric neurology consultation for diagnostic assessments (EMG/NCS) and follow‑up at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital (Pediatric Neuromuscular Clinic). Perform pediatric neurology EEG (based on qualification). Teach and mentor learners at all levels in clinical and academic settings. Conduct impactful research in Pediatric Neurology and engage with the Women and Children’s Health Research Institute (WCHRI). Collaborate with other programs, interdisciplinary teams, and healthcare professionals to advance pediatric neurology care and education. Qualifications Applicants must have: MD degree (or equivalent). Completed residency training in Pediatrics and subspecialty training in Pediatric Neurology. Completed Pediatric Neuromuscular training and be certified in EMG/NCS. Certified or eligible to become a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (Pediatric Neurology) or equivalent. Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA). Additional asset: Pediatric Electroencephalography (EEG) training and certification.
