Support the Manager, Regulatory Affairs by helping coordinate licensing across CRL and between CRL and other CNL divisions. Provide support to assigned Designated Representative of the Licensee (DROLs) in the Safety and Control Areas and/or facilities. Assist in the preparation of the annual report. Prepare and review licensing correspondence. Prepare licensing protocols, progress reports and other licensing submissions as required. Draft and review licensing procedures and processes as required. Maintain a schedule of all licensing activities for CRL and CNL. Assist in preparations for CNSC Commission hearings and meetings. Draft and review responses to CNSC questions. Draft and review presentations for the CNSC. Track and manage regulatory commitments for CRL and CNL. Other duties as assigned by the manager. What We Are Looking For Education Bachelor’s (Honours) or Master’s or PhD in Engineering or Science from a university of recognized standing; or membership in an engineering or scientific professional organization authorized by statute to establish qualification for membership in that organization. Experience Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a nuclear operations environment, resulting in a sound technical knowledge of regulatory interactions with the CNSC. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong knowledge of the Nuclear Safety and Control Act and the associated regulatory and environmental assessment processes, and a working knowledge of the Impact Assessment Act, are essential. Well‑developed program knowledge in at least 6 of the 14 Safety and Control Areas. Demonstrated strong project management skills. Ability to interact with multiple people and manage input from several projects in an organized manner. Ability to work in an environment where tight deadlines are frequent, including document preparation, review and submission. Security Clearance Eligibility Required Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat’s "Standard on Security Screening" and the "Policy on Government Security." Working Conditions Working schedule: Five (5) days per week, seven and a half (7.5) hours per day for a thirty‑seven and a half (37.5) hour work week. Location Hybrid onsite eligible: The majority of time will be spent at CNL’s Chalk River Laboratory site while providing opportunities to work remotely, where possible.
