Role We are seeking a VP, Technology Strategy & Transformation who will be responsible for architecting and delivering the firm’s enterprise technology vision. This role bridges technology strategy, product management, and hands‑on development, ensuring the firm’s technology ecosystem becomes a meaningful competitive advantage across its real estate investment businesses, including both debt and equity platforms. The VP is accountable for end‑to‑end technology execution: defining strategy, building products, writing code where needed, managing projects, mentoring developers, and overseeing enterprise systems, cybersecurity, data governance, and regulatory technology requirements. The ideal candidate combines strategic leadership with a roll‑up‑your‑sleeves engineering mindset. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute a multi‑year technology strategy aligned with the firm’s business objectives across both real estate debt and equity investment management. Serve as the primary technology advisor to the executive leadership team, providing thought leadership on innovation, automation, artificial intelligence & machine learning capabilities, data analytics, and emerging technologies relevant to real estate investment management. Translate business needs into scalable, integrated technology solutions that improve efficiency, transparency, and competitive differentiation. Product Management & Development Lead product strategy, road mapping, and lifecycle management for all internal and external technology platforms. Drive requirements gathering, user research, and solution design with cross‑functional business partners. Oversee the development of proprietary tools supporting originations, underwriting, portfolio management, asset management, fund operations, investor reporting, and risk management. Ensure all product decisions are aligned with measurable business value, including efficiency gains, accuracy, compliance, and enhanced investment outcomes. Establish and champion product management practices, including backlog prioritization, iterative delivery, and stakeholder communication. Hands‑On Engineering & Technical Leadership Act as a technical lead and active contributor, capable of writing code, architecting integrations, reviewing pull requests, and guiding engineering best practices. Build working prototypes, automate workflows, and support development teams in solving complex technical challenges. Provide mentorship to developers, analysts, and engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, code quality, and continuous improvement. Serve as escalation point for architectural decisions, data modeling, and API integration strategy. Project & Program Management Implement structured project management methodologies (Agile/hybrid), including sprint planning, resource allocation, status reporting, and risk mitigation. Coordinate cross‑functional working groups across IT, Investments, Finance, Compliance, Risk, and Operations. Ensure disciplined documentation, governance, and stakeholder transparency throughout project lifecycles. Lead the transformation of the firm’s technology landscape, including core investment platforms, portfolio/asset management tools, origination & relationship management, fund accounting, workflow automation, and reporting systems. Evaluate, select, and implement enterprise software solutions to support investment lifecycle processes, ensuring alignment with business requirements and regulatory expectations. Oversee change management, adoption, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance system usability and business outcomes. Data Strategy, Architecture & Governance Build and execute an enterprise data strategy, including the modernization of data infrastructure, warehousing, integration, and analytics capabilities. Establish strong data governance frameworks encompassing data quality, accessibility, lineage, and security across the organization. Enable advanced reporting and analytics to support investment insights, risk assessment, operational benchmarking, and regulatory reporting. Oversee cybersecurity strategy, policies, and controls to safeguard sensitive information and ensure resilience against emerging threats. Ensure technology practices align with regulatory requirements associated with securities regulators, mortgage/loan licensing authorities, privacy legislation, and investor obligations. Partner with Finance, Compliance and Risk Management teams to support audits, examinations, and the implementation of technology‑enabled compliance processes. Technology Operations Management Manage day‑to‑day IT operations, ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance of systems and infrastructure. Oversee vendor relationships, contract negotiations, service level agreements, and the effective use of outsourced technology services. Establish service delivery standards and a customer‑centric support function for internal users across all business lines. Build and lead a high‑performing technology organization, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and operational excellence. Develop talent through mentoring, coaching, and defined career pathways. Promote cross‑functional collaboration and strong communication between business teams and the technology function.
