CWP Energy is a Montreal‑based energy trading firm specializing in renewable energy and physical power markets. Since 2012, we have grown by staying entrepreneurial, hands‑on, and relentlessly focused on execution. We believe in learning fast, taking ownership, and solving real problems in complex markets. We are entering a new phase of growth, with an expanding footprint across markets and an increasing number of strategic opportunities to evaluate. To support this, we are looking for someone who can operate across disciplines—combining analytical rigor, business judgment, and curiosity—to help us better understand where to play and how to win. The Opportunity This role sits at the intersection of strategy, market analysis, and business operations. You will not have a strictly defined scope of responsibilities. You will be expected to work on complex, sometimes ambiguous problems, bringing structure, clarity, and direction. You will collaborate closely with teams across the organization, as well as with senior leadership, gaining direct exposure to how decisions are made and how value is created in energy trading. Over time, you will develop a deep understanding of power markets, trading strategies, and the key drivers of performance, while contributing directly to important business decisions. What You’ll Do Build a deep understanding of power markets, including pricing dynamics, risk factors, and value drivers Conduct structured research and analysis on markets, competitors, and emerging opportunities Support the evaluation of new markets, products, and strategic initiatives Develop clear, data‑driven analyses to inform business decisions Prepare business cases, reports, and materials for senior stakeholders Contribute to risk‑related analysis, including exposures and market scenarios Assess internal performance and help identify areas for improvement Participate in cross‑functional projects to gain a holistic view of the business Work directly with the president on the business growth plan How We Work We are a team of doers. People take ownership, move quickly, and contribute beyond their formal scope. Titles don’t define impact—ideas do. We value people who can go from high‑level thinking to hands‑on execution, who are comfortable with ambiguity, but driven to bring clarity. We do not just analyze problems, we push toward solutions. The best ideas win here—regardless of where they come from—because our goal is always the same: making better decisions in complex markets.
