Responsibilities Work closely with clients and the engagement team to develop exceptional tax planning ideas and solutions that achieve clients’ business objectives. Be a leader in the management and development of our growing tax practice. Act as a brand ambassador and participate in advancing Doane Grant Thornton through networking, speaking engagements, and community involvement. Assist clients in managing income tax planning, implementation, and compliance requirements, including privately held businesses and multinational corporations; advise on corporate, personal, and trust matters. Identify, develop, and pursue new opportunities both organically and with value‑added tax services. Provide exceptional client service and stay attuned to new legislation, interpretations, and market factors that impact our clients. Participate in the growth and development of your colleagues by coaching, training, and facilitating timely performance discussions. Prepare and present information to clients, colleagues, and other professionals. Build an environment of trust and openness that encourages learning. Qualifications A recognized professional accounting designation, LLB, or other appropriate combination of work experience and academic credentials (e.g., master’s degree in tax). Completion of the CICA In‑depth program. Substantive expertise in the tax‑related aspects of corporate tax accounting and compliance, Canadian domestic tax, and shareholder planning. Demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional client service. Strong interest in coaching and development and a commitment to personal growth. Ability to develop, present, and apply new ideas, creative approaches, and innovative solutions. Acceptance of personal responsibility for the success of self, team, and firm; ability to work independently and as part of a team. Commitment to excellence in product quality and attention to detail. Team player able to rally resources and collaborate to meet client needs. Positive attitude toward change or ambiguity.
