About The Role We’re looking for a Content and Communications Lead to join Float’s Marketing team and build a sharper, more scalable content and communications engine for the business. This is a broad, senior builder role that shapes and leads our content marketing strategy while operating across SEO/AEO, organic social, PR, and brand storytelling to continue to build Float’s authority and drive growth. What You’ll Be Responsible For Own and evolve Float’s content and communications motion across all content pillars: SEO/AEO/GEO, social, website, performance marketing and brand. Partner closely with Growth Marketing to identify content gaps, improve program effectiveness, and create content that supports awareness, engagement, acquisition, and conversion. Lead Float’s strategy for “search everywhere optimization,” in partnership with agency support, while improving the system behind how that work gets done. Own the social content calendar and channel monitoring across Float’s social presence. Support reactive and proactive PR motions, including press requests, leadership messaging, and launch‑specific media strategies. Contribute to brand marketing as a creative and copy partner, ensuring alignment between campaigns, brand voice, and the broader content and communications agenda. Create AI‑enabled workflows that improve how content is researched, produced, repurposed, monitored, and scaled across the broader marketing team. Raise the impact of content beyond traditional written formats by shaping stronger multi‑format storytelling, e.g., video, infographic, and interactive elements where useful. About You Here’s what sets you up for success at Float: You put customers first, always; you make complex financial topics simple, useful, credible, and interesting. You act like an owner; you can tackle ambiguous remits, decide what matters first, and create momentum without waiting for perfect structure. You think big and move fast; you’re energized by builder environments where you stabilize, experiment, and scale simultaneously. You constantly learn and grow; you are AI‑forward in practice and adapt meaningfully as content workflows and market dynamics change. You raise the bar; you bring strong editorial standards, business judgment, and taste across channels and formats. You win as a team; you communicate directly, work well across functions, and influence without formal authority. What You Bring 7+ years of experience across B2B content marketing, thought leadership, communications, organic content, or adjacent roles in startup or scale‑up environments. Content marketing as a core strength, not an adjacent skill—especially in search‑driven, growth‑relevant, B2B work. Experience operating across multiple content and communications disciplines, ideally including SEO, performance marketing, organic social, executive narrative building, PR, or brand support. Strong writing and editorial judgment across formats, with evidence you can shape more than just written content. Practical, workflow‑level AI fluency, with examples of how you have used AI to improve speed, quality, experimentation, or team leverage. Strong prioritization and business judgment in broad, ambiguous roles where many valid things could be done at once.Comfort moving between strategy and execution regularly, and evidence that you can handle context switching without losing quality or business alignment. Canadian market experience and clear fintech‑adjacent experience are strongly preferred. Comfort working in a hands‑on role without a large team, and genuine interest in building rather than only managing. This May Not Be The Role For You If... You come from a pure PR/comms background and have not owned technical B2B content marketing. You prefer a narrow specialty over a broad builder role with many moving parts. You want to stay mostly at the strategy layer rather than moving between strategy and hands‑on execution. You prefer stable, set‑and‑forget processes over constantly evolving how the work gets done. You want a large team rather than a high‑leverage individual seat with strong cross‑functional influence. You are not energized by ambiguity, feedback, or changing priorities. You have not meaningfully integrated AI into your workflows. You are strongest only in traditional written content and have little interest in multi‑format storytelling.
