The Role As a specialist, safety you will provide technical guidance to support the corporate Safety and Health Management program and associated standards. Working with operations, you will apply industry best practices to improve and implement safety processes, contribute to safety training, and provide technical advice on safety requirements, and hazard mitigation. Responsibilities Provide proactive health and safety support to mine sites, including onsite and remote assistance. Identify, assess, and mitigate hazards at Cameco's uranium mines and mills. Develop and maintain safety performance metrics, dashboards and reports for leadership. Act as a subject matter expert for industrial hygiene and ergonomics. Analyze incident data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities. Maintain awareness of emerging research, technology and industry best practices. Assist with the development, review, and continuous improvement of safety policies, procedures, and programs. Provide support for continuous improvement initiatives, inspections, incident investigations, and internal audits. Requirements Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, engineering, environmental health, science, or related discipline. Minimum three years of relevant work experience. Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered. Occasional to frequent travel to Cameco's various locations. Preferred Qualifications Possess or be eligible for a professional safety designation such as Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH). Familiarity with data analytics, development of dashboards and reports, and relational databases. Experience working in industrial, mining or other regulated environments.
