In this role, you will expand and grow our strong water business in the regional marketplace. As part of our world‑class organization and in collaboration with our outstanding technical and business professionals, you will help shape our future strategic and geographic development.ResponsibilitiesPartner with Canada’s Managing Director and Water Business Group Directors to develop, implement and maintain effective area business group programsMonitor area business group performance indicators and implement actions and process improvements as neededFacilitate Area teamwork, communication and work‑sharing between offices, business classes, management, and staff to maximize client satisfaction, company growth and profitabilityBuild area business group capabilities through recruitment, mentoring, staff development and trainingPrepare annual revenue forecasts and budgets and monitor performance of area business group services. Lead area business group strategic plan implementation. Coordinate activities with company, regional and local managersFacilitate project management reviews and project quality control reviews in cooperation with the professional services lead and the business class leadsSupport development of strong client relationships and selectively serve as a key client managerPartner with Business Development and Market Sector leads to develop and implement strategies, new business prospects, technical services, quality, and production methods and standards, all within established goals and objectives of the business group, region and companyMonitor implementation of company policies and procedures, standards, quality assurance and risk management within business group and areaParticipate in development and implementation of company vision and direction as member of the area team and business groupParticipate in business and community activities as a representative of HDRPerform other duties as neededPreferred QualificationsExperience in engineering consulting in CanadaMaintains a professional or engineering registration and has related technical experienceDegree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related fieldBusiness development experience in CanadaRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related fieldA minimum of 10 years experienceDemonstrated experience with leading diverse teamsCommitted to quality, improvement and HDR valuesActively engaged in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brandAbility to work cooperatively with regional and local office managers, other area business group directors, technical directors and marketing managersAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture is a mustWhat We Believe HDR is our company.
