Job Responsibilities The successful candidate must be capable and possess proven leadership in contract management, negotiations, procurement and supply chain management in support of Cosma North America Purchasing goals and objectives. The position will negotiate, analyze, manage and execute contracts as they pertain to Cosma North America, supporting operating facilities within Cosma North America and establishing strong, consistent supplier management processes and practices for key commodities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Co‑ordinate cost reduction initiatives, supply chain management, contract management, legal compliance, supplier risk management and execute cross‑divisional initiatives encompassing common commodities while driving positive results to support Cosma International. Cost reductions: Meet and exceed cost reduction goals established by Cosma International; provide quarterly reports as requested. Initiate development and implementation of new purchasing initiatives to achieve both Divisional and Group cost reduction objectives. Develop preferred suppliers in key commodities while ensuring the supply base is viable and capable of being a long‑term partner. Manage annual rebate agreements. Conduct detailed RFQ analysis and review cost breakdowns. Occasionally support divisional purchasing needs on site. Manage any legally related supplier issue. Work with divisions to enhance purchasing plans and develop additional action plans for both direct and indirect commodities. Negotiate in any problematic supplier‑related issue. Mentor and coach younger and less experienced divisional buyers. Participate in development and implementation of purchasing policies and best practices. Work with Magna on Supplier Risk Management and represent Cosma N/A purchasing when necessary. When appropriate represent Cosma divisions across the Magna Group of Companies in common cost reduction initiatives. Interact with Cosma Commodity Leads in other regions. Identify new sources and markets to drive improvements in quality, service, technology and cost. Develop strong Divisional Procurement teams while encouraging collaboration across divisions. Perform other duties as required. Interpersonal Skills Advanced communication skills – written and verbal, effective at all levels. Qualifications University degree or community college graduate in Engineering, Business Purchasing, or Supply Chain Management. +10 years of purchasing experience in the automotive industry. Supply Chain Management designation is preferred but not required (SCMP, SPSM, CPP, CPPM, CGPP, CPPC). Strong knowledge of purchasing laws and regulations in Canadian, U.S. and Mexican markets. General knowledge in Accounting & Finance, Marketing and Logistics. Strong process and product knowledge. Proficiency in English business acumen; additional language skills an asset.
