Type of job: Permanent Full-time Location: Annacis Island, Delta (BC) Work Schedule: Monday to Friday; OR Tuesday to Saturday; OR Sunday to Thursday Working Hours: Day Shift: 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM Night Shift: 3:30 PM – 12:30 AM Day shifts and night shifts are scheduled on a rotating basis among 3 supervisors: 1 month of night shift and 2 months of day shifts. Responsibilities Oversee operations at Wallenius Wilhelmsen’s Vehicle Processing Center. Lead continuous process improvements to achieve a safe and cost‑efficient work environment that meets performance targets. Responsible for promoting and helping develop a culture of a safe work environment for all employees and visitors through compliance with the WWS Health & Safety policies and provincial legislation. Responsible for promoting a culture of inclusivity, respect, and open communication. Within your area of responsibility, investigate any accidents, incidents and/or near misses, to ensure actions are be taken to prevent future incidents. Lessons learned are documented and shared and all reporting is completed timely and accurately. Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to develop strategic plans and procedures to increase the efficiency of current practices. Coordinate with leads to ensure organization of daily work for the crew. Foster an environment of positive employee relations and employee involvement. Perform corrective actions if needed. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Your background and experience include: 3-5 years supervisory and employee relations experience, with a focus on strong leadership and relationship building skills. A valid BC Class 5 driver’s license and the ability to operate manual and automatic transmissions. Physically capable of performing duties that include entering and exiting railcars Background working in a unionized environment. SOP, MRP, TQM, JIT, Kaizen, 5S, and visual factory management. Assembly line operation, with emphasis on automotive or mechanical applications. Excellent time management skills in an ever changing and fast paced environment. Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities to a successful conclusion through strong planning, excellent verbal and written communication, and problem-solving skills. A self-starter, with a strong work ethic and a team focus. Must be customer centric and service driven. Thorough attention to detail and follow up.
