OverviewThe Volontariat International en Entreprise (VIE) is a unique worldwide programme sponsored by the French Ministries for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Economy and Finance, and the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion. It enables Airbus Atlantic to offer young professionals the opportunity to gain paid and valuable experience abroad in a technical or commercial role. The VIE programme is a specific contract under Business France eligibility criteria. Eligibility CriteriaBe a citizen of the European Union (plus Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein) and be a graduate candidate aged up to 28 years (a VIE mission may start at the latest on the twenty‑ninth birthday). Have fulfilled the military obligations of your country. Be registered on the Mon Volontariat International site before turning 28. DurationThe duration of a VIE is from 6 to 24 months depending on the placement location. PositionA VIE position "Materials and Processes Engineering Analyst" for a 1‑year period (possibility of renewal for an additional year) is available at Airbus Atlantic in Mirabel (Canada). MissionThe Materials and Processes Analyst reports to central engineering at Airbus Atlantic Canada and collaborates with all departments on the Airbus A220 and Bombardier Global 8000 programmes. The role is responsible for activities on in‑service aircraft such as design changes, analysis of non‑conformities, tests and trials, and activities related to the environment. ResponsibilitiesProvide technical input and dispositions to resolve non‑conformity issues of parts, installations and production line problems. Develop and validate test plans with laboratories, write test reports and analyse results. Participate in the analysis and implementation of engineering documentation changes together with engineering teams, manufacturing preparation services, production, supply chain and various partners and customers. Make technical decisions regarding materials used, manufacturing and installation processes, and verification of parts and assemblies. Participate in strategic projects for the development of the design office. Work on redesign activities, investigate and collaborate on new environmental regulations affecting the product. Work with the multidisciplinary design and stress analysis engineering team. Contribute to the site's R&D activities. Operate within the company's quality frameworks and standards and provide visibility to their management and the programme: technical summaries, progress status, identification of risks and opportunities. ProfileYou hold a degree in Materials and Processes. Initial experience in the aerospace sector and proficiency in CATIA V5 are major assets. You have knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes used in aerospace, particularly regarding assembly and fastenings. You demonstrate strong operational rigor and a natural curiosity that drives you to explore new technical solutions. You work comfortably both autonomously and in teams and can adapt your communication to each interlocutor (internal or customer). Your persuasive skills enable you to argue technical aspects with courtesy and pedagogy. You know your limits and know when to call on experts or subject‑matter references.
