SB Canada is seeking an Estimator to join our team. Key Responsibilities of the Role Work independently and as a team member to support estimating tasks by sourcing, preparing and administrating tender documents Assist Estimator & Team members in Sourcing Bids / Downloading / Scheduling Quotations with Customers Identify appropriate subcontractors and suppliers for the project, provide them with the required bid information and addenda, and negotiate the best possible vendor prices Attend pre-construction meetings and site meetings to identify any special risks Assist in the Preparation of Tender Documents / Prequalification Documents Liaison / Contact Owners / General Contractors Relative to Tendering Stage and post-tender stage Schedule and Assist in Meeting Process & Calendar Process Assist the Preconstruction Team in Processing Reports / Presentations Engage appropriate technical support from Operations for estimating inputs and productivity factors Support the project handover process to the Project Delivery / Operation teams. If requested, assist with the project material procurements Be an active participant in SB Canada’s Health and Safety Program NOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Qualifications – What Will Make You Successful Education: Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field Equivalent combination of education and industry experience will be considered Experience: 3–7+ years of estimating experience in construction (deep foundation, piling, ground improvement, or heavy civil preferred) Proven ability to prepare accurate and competitive bids in a fast-paced environment Experience reviewing drawings, specifications, and geotechnical reports Strong understanding of construction methods, means, and sequencing Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities under pressure Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills High level of accountability and ownership Preferred Skills: Experience with design-build and/or ECI (Early Contractor Involvement) projects Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Bid2Win, Excel-based models) Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM/project tracking platforms Ability to perform quantity take-offs and cost analysis independently Familiarity with subcontractor and supplier solicitation processes Understanding of risk identification and pricing strategies Required Designations or Certifications: Gold Seal Certification (Estimator) or working toward designation is an asset P.Eng. or E.I.T. designation considered an asset Valid driver’s license *Only candidates being considered for this position will be contacted.
