Overview Williams Lake is in BC’s Central Interior Region (Cariboo Chilcotin Region) with a population of approximately 35,000 in Williams Lake and 62,000 in the Cariboo Regional District. Role and Practice Description Our current OB-GYN team is looking for two full-time OB-GYNs to join Cariboo Memorial Hospital. Opportunities exist to join existing private practices or to work as a locum. Leadership development opportunities are available through Interior Health’s NAVIG8 Program, including the NAVIG8 Emerging Physician Leaders Program. Physician services in Williams Lake include Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatrics, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Anesthesia, and a knowledgeable group of full-service Family Doctors. Visiting specialists include Radiology, Ophthalmology and ENT. There are opportunities to teach and engage with learners of varying disciplines. The area offers a high quality of life, reasonable housing prices, and lower office overheads. Hospital Context Cariboo Memorial is undergoing renovation with planned completion in 2026. The addition will add 25 in-patient beds (total of 53), plus a new emergency department and mental-health unit. Currently, CMH is a Level 2 Community Hospital with 28 inpatient beds; ER, OR, Med-Surg, Obstetrical units, on-site lab and diagnostic imaging, and an outpatient Hemodialysis Unit are available. Responsibilities and Opportunities Join the OB-GYN team at Cariboo Memorial Hospital as two full-time OB-GYN physicians. Provide full-scope OB-GYN care as part of a multidisciplinary hospital services environment. Collaborate with a network including Pediatrics, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Anesthesia, and Family Doctors; benefit from visiting Radiology, Ophthalmology and ENT specialists. Engage with learners and teaching opportunities across disciplines. Explore options to join existing private practices or work as a locum; participate in APP contracts and Level 1 MOCAP-funded call. Utilize Rural Incentives and leadership development opportunities via NAVIG8 programs.
