Overview You’ll focus on the SGT-A35 gas turbine as a central member of the mechanical design team delivering R&D projects, cost‑reduction projects, and operational activities. You will create, iterate, and assess component designs against fit, form, and function while collaborating with other engineering team members to deliver optimized solutions that meet project requirements. Responsibilities Bring a holistic design mindset and drive designs to meet fit, form, and function against project and operational requirements. Own designs through their lifecycle: conceptual design, basic/detailed design, manufacturing optimization, implementation, and repair & overhaul. Produce DFMEAs, designs, models, schemes, technical presentations, specifications, design guidelines, and best practices. Mentor and coach junior engineers by sharing knowledge and encouraging skill development. Collaborate with technical specialists in analytical and manufacturing fields to develop optimized design solutions. Participate in root‑cause analysis for field failures of components you have expertise in. Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines. Membership with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec. 5‑10 years of relevant experience. Knowledge and experience in manufacturing environments such as castings, forgings, and machining (conventional and advanced methods); turbine aerofoils or structures/casings is a plus. Experience with CAD tools and with the ASME Y14.5M standard or other similar drawing standards. Fluency in English; proficiency in French is required for the work environment.
