The Role Reporting directly to senior management, the Director of Innovation and Product Development holds a central and structuring role within the organization. This individual acts as a strategic technical reference, a key driver of new solution development, and a convergence point between market development, design, and execution. Through this role, the organization is better equipped to qualify opportunities upstream, reduce technical risks, and increase its capacity to deliver more complex projects. Key Responsibilities Innovation and Solution Development Define and guide the vision for solution and product development in alignment with the business strategy. Identify opportunities for innovation, enhancement, and evolution of the existing offering. Develop new configurations, standards, or technical approaches adapted to complex environments. Translate market, client, and operational needs into concrete, feasible, and differentiated solutions. Maintain a balance between innovation, technical feasibility, profitability, and execution capacity. Structuring, Standardization, and Risk Management Analyze the existing offering to improve consistency, performance, and efficiency. Contribute to the definition of technical standards that support repeatability, quality, and speed of execution. Intervene upstream in projects to identify technical constraints, risks, and opportunities. Enable the organization to access more complex projects by strengthening technical decision‑making frameworks. Design Oversight Oversee internal and external design teams. Ensure the quality, relevance, and consistency of design deliverables. Gradually structure the design function, including its processes and working methods. Market Development Support Support market leaders on technical considerations related to business opportunities. Participate in selected client discussions to inform and support strategic decisions. Assess risks, opportunities, and possible technical avenues. Act as a key link between development, design, and execution teams. Education and Experience University degree in Engineering (building engineering, construction engineering, or a related field). Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ). 10 to 15+ years of experience in complex technical environments. Experience at the interface of design, engineering, operations, and business development. Experience leading or coordinating multidisciplinary technical teams. Key Competencies Generalist profile with strong technical analysis capabilities. Ability to structure complex issues and mobilize the appropriate expertise. Broad understanding of design, execution, cost, and performance challenges. Comfort operating in environments where technical and business parameters are closely intertwined.
