You have excellent skills in the preparation of designs, details, drawings, reports, and you are able to conduct comprehensive Quality Assurance reviews of work completed by others within the Structures & Tunnels group. You have experience participating in a variety of work including leading proposal preparation, engineering studies, condition assessments, preliminary/detailed design, cost estimates, schedule development, writing technical standards/specifications, preparation of contract documents, tendering, and construction administration. You are comfortable working closely with all levels including senior management, supervising engineers, designers, drafters/modelers, and support staff. You are motivated by passing on knowledge to the next generation of engineers and are generous with your time spent mentoring and coaching junior staff to help cultivate their professional development. You help to motivate other people, share positive recognition you receive, and give immediate constructive feedback to your team when needed. You advocate for your team both internally and externally, and you have resilience to solve problems that may arise on a project. You trust in your team's skills to get the job done. Qualifications A bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering. Must hold a valid P. Eng. designation with the ability to practice in the Province of Ontario. License in other provinces is considered an asset. 20 plus years of structural engineering experience for vertical and linear type projects in the architectural, water, wastewater, and municipal disciplines. Proven capabilities in managing scope, schedule, budget, and clients. Experience completing Quality Assurance reviews of work by others. Experience leading or mentoring staff. Technical leadership in the development of structural standards and specifications. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative, high paced, team environment. Superior English communication skills, both oral and written. Extensive knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, National Building Code, and structural codes related to steel, masonry, concrete, and wood. Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit/BIM is an asset. Experience in tunnels and shafts would be an asset.
